Hi everyone, I know that I do not have that many posts on WF, but I want to say thank you to those take their valueable time to contribute great information. I have a quick question

I recently started a campaign on the google content network, using placements. During campaign setup it gave me the option of using CPC OR CPM.

What is the best option for this type of campaign? will you get more impressions with cpm.

Any experience would be great

Thanks

Chris

  • Do you want impressions or clicks? Are you branding or selling your product? Kind of hard to say with vague information. You can burn through an ad budget quickly with CPC. So you might want to start with CPM, and go from there just to test what you are doing.

I suggest the total reverse of what IMIQ suggests, although as he says, the information is very vague.

Depends on how you are setting up your campaign. I would suggest targeting related sites, not letting Google display your ads based on your keywords.

I would start with CPC first. That way, you can test your ads and pay only when someone clicks. Try the CPM method if you wish once you have high click rate ads, which for content is relative.
