Hi All,

Can anyone help me I am looking to add some S.E.O to a website of mine but everytime I search for an S.E.O company online they come up with lists of things they will do - each company offering different techniques. Some of which I don't even understand the terminology!!

So who is right and who is wrong?

Do we need S.E.O?

Why is it important to track where your visitors are coming from? as long as you get increased traffic does it matter?

What are the basics of a good S.E.O package?

With every company offering different packages and subsequently different prices, it's hard to choose the right one. I've seen locally packages from £150 up £1000+

I'd be interested in any views everyone may have.

Wayne.

There's always the big G if you don't understand something.

That depends on who's telling you what. We can't tell you who's right/wrong if you don't tell us who they are and what they say.

Nobody needs SEO. But, if you want organic, (relatively) targeted traffic from Google you don't have to pay a penny for, then yes. You need SEO.

Once you identify your top producing sources, you can capitalize on them. Unlike most things, you work on your strong points in SEO - not your weak points. If something works really well for you, do it again.

If you don't analyze and track your traffic data, you have no idea what's doing well and what's not.

That depends on what price range/budget you're looking for.

Something in that price range SHOULD offer the following:

    1. Content marketing (to a certain extent).
    2. Ethical backlink building (see below).
    3. Forum marketing.
    4. Blog commenting (possibly).

Any service costing up upwards of that amount needs to be legit. They SHOULD be doing the following:

    1. Ethical backlink building - (guest posting, content syndication)
    2. ALL your content needs - that includes blog posts.
    3. Complete onpage optimization - keyword placement, anchor text, etc.
    4. Everything from the less expensive package.
    5. EVERYTHING even remotely related to SEO.

Really, I've never seen anything close to that price. Either they are doing a LOT, or they're ridiculously overcharging.

How's that for a view? Tell me if I can help any further.

You are right! It is really tough to understand which Provider or Package you will select regarding your SEO needs.

SEO is mainly a relation between your site and Google or other search engines. 1st question is, what your website needs? If it is a new born site then you need to be very gentle about SEO. Create some manually build links. Or find a SEO provider who build manual link for you. Before ordering read their clients review. It will really help you for taking decision.

For an aged site, find some Google friendly backlink builder like manual link pyramid or Google friendly link pyramid or build some manual web 2.0s. But remember build your links with drip feed. And again, before ordering read the clients review carefully.

It's really hard to tell who's seo is going to work for you, but mostly people analyze your site and tell you a complete package and give you a time frame and tell you what they need to do with your site, In this case I suggest you to chose the top names in seo that are mostly disscused in WF.

If a SEO company says their service includes xxx directory submissions, xxx bookmark submissions,...all are submissions, nothing more. Then don't choose the company. Submission links are low quality backlinks, and some companies even do not do submissions manually.

A backlink that anyone can get is not a valuable backlink.

      Why?

Because they will most likely build low quality links for you and tank your site.

Instead focus on relevant and authority homepage and contextual links, they work great.

The only problem is, they can be costly.

Some of our clients pay us USD 1500-3000 monthly but they are seeing really good results.
Yasir, your soliciting is awfully obvious. Just pm the begging letter and be done with it.

If you see it as a cost your already on your way to failure. You should look at it (your site)as buying your first shop. And now you need to furnish and promote it (SEO/SEM).

Ikea serves its purpose but breaks after a while.
Harrods serves it purpose and lasts a lifetime.

SEO techniques can get your site in the first page of Google results for certain keywords. This means more traffic, and it should be good quality traffic (people searching for your relevant keywords).

So yes, it may get important. How to do it? It's quite complicated due to Google algoritms, so it won't be easy for you to understand what it is about.

SEO is basically the art of ranking you sites in major search engines. You should do a google search and continue from there because there are tons of articles for complete SEO noobs. I see no point of repeating them here.
