Let me know your experience with SEO and Payed Traffic.

Lately I realised that I have being trying to rank well in Google for many years and always worried about some kind of slap. I play by the rules but Google make new rules therefore I can't feel safe.

No need to say that if I rank well I can have FREE TRAFFIC, I know.
How about payed traffic or banner ads?

As long as we get results, what is the point of SEO?

Payed traffic is not so targeted but it is cheap. There is no need of Google and you can get immediate traffic so you can analyse and make decisions.

Is it by paying for traffic that people start their businesses?

Let me know your experience it you don't mind to share.

Thanks:rolleyes:

I feel the same way to be honest SEO costs an arm and a leg and if not that then your time with little or no return.

When I was doing pay per click I was getting good returns lets say for every 100 clicks I was getting around 4 - 5000 per month sales.

However I started chasing SEO and packages for this start at 300 + VAT here in the UK.

Over the long term to become successful online I thought why spend that money there when I can simply invest in listing my products on Ebay in an established market place without struggling to bring that qualified traffic to my own website.
Which so called SEO experts have also struggled to do especially at low cost to me.

So if I put the work into SEO myself maybe I could make it work but as I'm running a business I don't have that time.
So the best option is invest into established market places and now I'm finally making good money online.
Be that PPC or Amazon / Ebay

        Hello there!
Let me know what you think about paying for traffic, not Adwords or Banners. There are services that you give the keywords and they send the traffic. Have you tried it?

I frankly saying that , when i want to buy online then I type the keyword in Google and directly go for 1st, 2nd search result and more but I never try to click on ppc adds , naturally i do not remember those adds, So i would like to have SEO strategies, but more over we should not have all the eggs in a single basket in online marketing.

I suppose that when you sell physical products at a somewhat low price that SEO might not be the most lucrative choice indeed.

However there are tons of professions where SEO / organic traffic becomes insane profitable. Take a dentist for example, or a lawyer, or even a local contractor that pulls in jobs worth a couple of hundred dollar each.

For them it would be throwing money away by not SEO'ing their sites.

With paid traffic you also won't be able to address every potential customer, most of the people ignore the paid ads and are only focused on the organic results, call it banner blindness.

So DO waste your time with SEO when you want to make the most out of your market!

It depends. I have clients that generate thousands of visitors a day and I have smaller clients that generate only about 150 per day. They are all free in the end and they do convert. So it works but it just depends on how smart your strategy is and how you execute your SEO.

There's no new or old rules. Don't "spam" and you can rank your sites/pages for years. There's no loopholes, just as any other job, it requires some hard work, learning and patience. Rankings don't come overnight, but there's HUGE ROI.

The keyword stuffed (make money online quickly) pages on OPs site says a lot.

There's no SEO going on there, more like negative SEO, lol.

I have seen blogs like yours before. You take the guidelines of programs and make its seem like that is the method.

"how to make money with adsense"

      1. join adsense
      2. google pays you when people click on your blogs!
      3. put adsense on a blog with good, related content.
      4. PROFIT!

This is the kind of shit you people put up. You regurgitate the whole "start-up process" of a particular program and make it seem like you are actually teaching something.

forget about SEO. Your site is garbage and you are an asshole for thinking it is worthwhile and should rank.

come up with something new instead of looking for a simply rule set to follow.

As per my experience I feel both Organic and Paid way of generating traffic is good. Both of them have their own share in the business. If you are looking for a stable and solid goals for a long term planning "SEO" is best, However if you would like to to get things rolling fast to for "Paid" way of generating traffic. Both of them have their own pros and Cons.
In Paid traffic you will get the lead till the time you are putting your money in so its like old railway machine. The more you enter your coal, More you will get the results but having said that smart work is what a professional can do for you.
Organic way is cheap but last for a longer time. You create your credibility in the market and establish yourselves on Search Engine Platform.

    Hope this Helps. Thanks

In my experience, organic traffic just converts much better than paid traffic, but this could just be the way I do things..

Nope, if you get a handful of homepage backlinks (good quality) pointed to your domain, you will rank fairly easily.

So SEO is not THAT random lol.

Organic traffic will always have a higher CTR because google has narrowed them down for you. Paid traffic can be good depending on how specialised you niche is.

I am a fan of SEO but it is time consuming when you start out. Especially if you are entirely new to the whole industry. I can see why people get disheartened. I have recently been taking a slightly different route post hummingbird and focusing in on website optimization and page-load speed as a platform form which to 'supercharge' your standard SEO practices.

I am yet to apply it to my older affiliate sites so I have no precise results of my own to speak of.

I have been using my personal blog to test it out (i.e. break and fix) and I have now developed a complete 'package' that will walk people through the process. Next up testing.

Does anyone have experience of this? I'd be interested to know your thoughts.

My blog details the process a little but it is mainly just a personal story of getting out of my day job.

You shouldn't specialize in just 1 kind of traffic source. There's too many out there to take advantage of. SEO is a good traffic source but you have to know how to go about it correctly.

This is why you should focus on developing your own private blog network.

SEO is great once you learn how to control the links you are getting, and once you understand what google just loves to eat up.

If you're not willing to do that, well than, paid advertising is probably your best approach.

I've personally spent thousands on SEO and never got an ROI. I've used a guy on Warriors that was LaClearly a spammer and then a pretty respected member of the board that claimed that he could rank the site. It never made it to any money positions before crashing. I spent a lot of my time personally writing content. I used my PPC ads to find the keywords to focus on. I had a site that brought in 2000 monthly visitors with no back linking ever done on my part. Just citations and lots of content. After having a few so called SEO experts work on my site it is now getting 60 visits a month. I do very well with Yahoo and Google PPC.

A word of caution, be very careful who does SEO work on your site. These folks can take a website that you've spent thousands to develop and taint it in no time. I've had to abandon a site that I spent a lot of time and money on. The web designer got paid, the SEOs got paid, and I lost my shirt. I'm sure that there are some reputable SEO providers, but the vast majority are nothing but posers.

Very true. Once you have a network, you are good to go.

      Sorry to hear that.

A rule of thumb is, the higher the link quality, the smaller the number of links needed to get you ranked high.

So if an SEO company offers you tons of directory submissions and press releases, they probably are building low quality links.

My take on this is: Get a handful of relevant, high PR links and you will see good results.

This is why I would recommend using paid traffic first to see if your website converts. A lot of people waste so much time and money trying to rank for the wrong keywords.

However once you have those keywords which convert you will then want to begin to set up an SEO stratergy and game plan

I believe SEO still stand a chance..But what i have heard over the past days is that people wanted immediate results and that's what discourages most people. With SEO, You must know that it's a long term aspect as much as your business. If your business grows your SEO grows. And for you to have a key word ranked on the first page of google that's a dream come through for your business.I have being doing SEO work for a quite a while now and the level or difficulty keep changing. because Google is constantly updating their algorithm. But, SEO still stand a chance. referrals, paid traffics ads, banners etc. only last for a moment. when your advertising money finish you get no more traffic. Therefore why not work smart not hard , for your keywords to ranked high on google with a technique that works?..In a matter of time people will just start visiting your website automatically .SEO Will always last as long thier are search engines

I agree everyone should quit SEO like they keep doing. It makes it easier for me to rank websites at the end of the day.

Go pay for PPC (like they want you to) and leave SEO for the big boys.

You won't get any cheerleader response from me or from many people. Most people relied on crappy seo services to get them ranked, its not that easy anymore. You need to pay to play or quit buying low quality fiverr links and learn how to do seo. It's really that simple.

"SEO" for me more and more means "UEO" --> User Experience Optimization

It starts already with planning your site, your site's structure and navigation, quality CONTENT obviously etc..etc... this all for me falls under "SEO". (As in: "I want to make a site that has the potential to rank well in Google")

Paid traffic...well obviously it costs. So do banners. Besides I have fun making my sites in a such a way that they potentially rank well.

If Majestic SEO and similar tools are not lying to me, I see plenty of sites today which rank well with surprisingly few back links. So I don't think SEO is an issue (as long as you're not in some ultra competitive niche)...because making a good site is not rocket science neither is acquiring a handful of GOOD links.

The times where you needed to build 1000s and 1000s of crappy links are over anyway. In some way one could say that SEO today is easier. Just keep whatever you're doing natural. Elaborate "bl@ck hat" techniques will only come back to you sooner or later and bite you in the a$$.
