How to find new SEO clients

I based in India and offering SEO service since 2008. Currently I am doing adwords, cold calling, sending manual SEO proposals to different websites worldwide to find new clients but still not getting sufficient leads or new SEO clients.

I am offering SEO and SMO service since 2008 and using all white hat techniques as per search engine guidelines with latest updates.

Can anyone help me how to find and get new SEO clients.

Yep it has once become harder again after all the updates, people are more scared then they used to be already etc etc.

Maybe if you rock at SEO you could launch your own sites and fill the gap with that.

That's what I'm doing as I work with small budgets so no large advertisement budget available.

That's the good thing about being an SEO, never having to worry about where you pull your income from, clients or own sites as the less clients the more I can use the network for myself.

I don't know what country your targeting trying to get clients. I'm in the US & there's no way I would dial a phone number like this (+91 - 9337444065), I know it's not a US number, for all I know it's someplace in Siberia.

My point is, target clients with things they're familiar with.

No offense but that forum sig. anchor-text is a turnoff, to me it's saying low quality SEO shenanigans.

No one cares where you're from, just take a number in the US and forward that to your Indian number or hire a receptionist service.

My point was, get a phone number from the country/location your targeting.

If I was targeting clients in Cornhole, Nebraska, I would have a local phone number for Cornhole, Nebraska. I wouldn't be telling people I'm located in some unfamiliar location.

            [edit]
You removed the wrong forum sig. anchor-text, lol.

Which brings me to my next point, communication. If the buyer/seller can't communicate without total confusion, it's not going to be a good experience.

Hey Yukon, much respect. I'm curious about the above quote. Is it because of the exact match or partial match nature of the anchor text? Or any other reason?

I wouldn't give you a penny , and considering that you aren't getting enough business it's a clear sign that people are waking up. There's nothing white hat in your spam.

ps: If you can't rank your own site to attract new clients then move to something else , as this is the only social proof a real seo company needs. But I would be hardly surprised to see your website ranking considering that you are still crap-backlinking it with 2009 spam style.

Make a website, list your case studies on your website, add testimonials to your website. Optimize your website for keywords related to seo services etc.

I am sure you will start getting inquiries. Website is the best medium to acquire new business and clients!

    Good Luck!

First of all, you are approaching it wrongly with your mode of contacting clients you barely know.

How do you expect one to subscribe to your idea when it's obvious you don't know how to secure clients.

Secondly, as far as rendering services is concern, if you offer good services, 1, 2 or 3 clients are enough to get the words out about your business and go viral from referrals e.t.c.

Thirdly, use your SEO skills to move into other niches and rank sites for yourself if your truly rock in your SEO.

If you can rank sites then you have more than enough opportunity to make thousands weekly online.

This is one of the reasons I've scaled back my participation on this forum. The sheer load of garbage people peddle and swallow. The latest trend being to redefine white hat SEO and fool people.

The OP offers article, forum posting AND LINK WHEELS and calls that white hat "as per search engine guidelines"

...anyways for those following along at home.

One way to find clients is to piggyback off web developers paid clients. Most web developers proudly promote their existing clients in a portfolio on their own site. Follow the links on the portfolio, check out the clients SERP positions for the obvious keywords (keyword meta tag, page title keywords).

I don't think most web developers care about selling SEO to their clients, which usually shows on small business sites (no SEO).

At least you know the leads are paying clients, nobody does web/dev for free.

If you are an SEO company you should be able to make a site and rank it #1 with the major search engines for all the important keywords, which should bring in plenty of traffic. I know if I was considering an SEO company I would see where their website ranks.

      Excellent advice.

Let me also add that since the OP is from India, there are a lot of call centers there. See if you can connect with someone who works in the "customer acquisition" department. Most of those call centers, I assume, only offer customer service or tech support but not SEO so they drop them. The idea is to have an insider refer these SEO clients to you.

Well IMHO, It's Also good to highlight every achievements you got from your clients. also the successful projects signed by your existing and previous clients. Also in terms of SEO you have to provide everything that a clients wishes and wants to see like Rankings, Traffic etc., but to be honest.. getting a client is even harder than before because of the updates and lastly, one of the most booming services today is Bad Link Removal and getting the site back on its shape - difficult but rewarding...

I suggest you consider Linkedin marketing and advertising. Join some groups, contribute and build a reputation, and then make a softly-softly approach to potential clients with a special Linkedin offer.

You might want to consider offline marketing visit businesses in your area then location will not be a barrier. Offer to do it for a charity/non-profit for free in exchange for credit on their sight, choose carefully who you offer to do this for such as those associated with small business start ups etc.

Another avenue is to create a meet-up group or join some that involve small businesses and start ups.

Hope some of this information helps.......

I can feel the pain. Here is what I would suggest. Instead of hoping to get clients and then promise them I can do balls and whistles do this instead -

    1. Choose a country of your choice (UK)
    2. Choose a city from this (London) For example, don't pick the same.
    3. Choose 3 B2C Contracting Niches (For example Roofers, Plumbers, Garage repairs)
    4. think of 1 fictitious name for each business and get a domain (Quick Garage repairs london.com or Greengaragelondon.com something of that sort)
    5. have someone of your team build a basic 5 page website for each of them.
    6. Now RANK that stuff.

If you are really good at SEO (You said you were Best SEO Company) you should be able to rank them real hard, and once done approach all other business owners in the same area and Tell them "see I have done it and can do it for you as well". There is pretty good chance you will hit them hard.. No one want false SEO promises in emails from India anymore but if you tell show results you will stand out from those 99 emails they get everyday.. Hell I am from India and I get at least 12 emails a week from Website developers to SEO guys on my Biz email.

If you are really good in SEO , Possibilities are endless. You can sell Leads (Just like I do but with PPC) and so on. You can create your own small niche ecommerce site and make bigger profit then a SEO Gig (I do have but I have to spend money on PPC , I dont know SEO and I dont want to pay someone doing it because I dont trust them).

It costs 59 Cents a month to have a local US or UK number , How hard is for you to get it ? And use a redirection to show them their version or the website.

Hope that makes sense, And good luck with it.

PS: Small tip : Don't tell them you are from India. Use your own name, if they guess it fine you don't have to speak it yourself. SEO From India is a BAD word now lol. People will simply run away with it you guys have abused this thing that much.

Manual SEO proposals do work, but the problem is, they are almost always never manual but mass emails.

I know that because I get over 20 emails a day from India saying exactly the same stuff.

Serve your present clients better, help them to rank better..have a result page and show how your SEO clients site ranking on Google. Referrals will work best for you..as new SEO clients mostly depends on referrals. Also use email markeing, tele calling..But the most and best one is that rank your site on top....

Now a days, getting clients is really a big problem for new companies. But it wouldn't a matter for a company who is in the service since 5 years & giving results to clients. Because, client won't stop SEO in case of getting benefit from it.
