Selling PR3 and Up Links Still Profitable?

by 3000 5 replies
I used to see a lot of ads for people selling PR3, 4, 5 links for $35 a pop why the sudden down turn in people selling them?

In my opinion today PR is no values, because google not updates PR from last 10 months. So, we not judge website quality with the help of PR. So when you buying link, must see its domain authority, page authority and page trust. Also sites in cache or index by search engine or not.

Google mentioned there won't be another PR update this year, so it does seem that PR is being phased out, or at least not updated as often. DA and PA are becoming really important to link sales.

It is really too bad that DA and PA are the "reliable" statistic we are using to judge links these days. Those stats rely on Moz's horrible link index that is often outdated, and unreliable. Of all of the link checkers Ahrefs is the best and even then nothing like what Yahoo offered to the public for free.

Hopefully Ahrefs can identify a decent algorithm for scoring in the future because Moz is moving away from SEO and Majestic's data is just as bad.

Maybe because paid undercover Google operatives have visiting places that sell or promote the selling of links, buy those links, then de-rank those domains?

I'm not sure if people still trust PR because these days people look for links from domains that are at least DA30+
