Another domain name similar to mine, do I have any rights?

Hey there,
I have registered my store since 2010, and have heard you should try and register similar names to your site. So that's what I tried to do yesterday.
For example, let's just say my site is healingcups.com and i've had it registered and have had a successful shop with it since 2010 (with a good brand reputation, goodwill etc)
Then yesterday I have tried to register healingcup.com but found it has already been registered earlier this year, but does not lead to anything at present.
If however, they decide to build upon the domain name, and sell things similar to me, do I have any rights at all? Obviously if people try to search for me, but forget to add the "s" they may land on their page instead (which is not a good thing).
The annoying thing is, godaddy and sedo are allowing me to bid for it at auction, but it hasn't led to anything, despite my efforts since July this year.
The URLS mentioned aren't mine, I just made them up to get the idea across
