Link pages - should I nofollow?

I'm sure I'll get some variety of opinion here, but I'd like to ask what would you do if you have a client with a "link page" that links out to upwards of 100 sites. It's a pretty strong site (PR5, not that it matters) so I don't know if changing it will affect the site positively or not.

I'm really torn about this. Normally, my gut tells me to nofollow all those links, however, I'm not sure if it's hurting anything or not at this point.

Opinions, advice?? I do appreciate the input. Thanks.

I assume these are reciprocal links and so the linked sites are expecting to get link juice out of sight. Making them "nofollow" defeats the purpose and, frankly, I would consider it a type of cheating if I've got someone else's link and they "nofollow" mine.

I assume they are not currently "nofollow" and the site is PR5 despite this. I would leave it as is.

My other suggestion is just to eliminate the links page altogether. I've found reciprocal linking to be completely worthless. I haven't exchanged links in over a year and my SERPs keep improving.

It's a links page, as in other resources people might find useful. So it's one-way links, non-solicited. The client just wanted a links page to give her viewers some more resources about her site's topic.

Our policy is to allow the links to be followed unless there is an obvious case of spamming. Our blogging system allows following of links in posts and the blogroll.

In our humble opinion, this is what makes the web dynamic. If everyone nofollows everything, it seems to us that all will suffer. But that's just our opinion. ;^>

I'd keep it dofollow, but I'd keep it on a separate links page not the main page.

If you are only using the page for helpful resources and not for reciprocal links, then you should keep it dofollow. Its important that the search engine spiders find a few links that link out of the site so they don't consider your site to be a dead end.
