Hi,

I started a blog site a while back and having been only using Yoast SEO plugin for Wordpress to see if I can draw traffic. I was hoping to get some advice in changes I can make or what I might be doing incorrectly because I really haven't seen much from search engines. I do understand that there really is way more to it and it will take some time and a lot of hard work, but just wanted to get a point in the right direction because I am new to SEO.

Appreciate the help and any advice

The Yoast plugin is great for onpage optimization. But that's not going to get you rankings for anything other than a keyword with little if any competition. You're going after a big niche that even very experienced internet marketers often stay away from.

The #1 key to success in internet marketing - pick the right niche and keywords.

I'm afraid your selection might be a bit challenging at this point.

To get that site ranked for weight loss terms is going to take a lot of effort (backlinking, social signals, etc.). And even then you're going up against huge sites.

If you choose right keywords, it can be optimized easily. Keywords are very important for SEO and bringing traffic so use proper keywords.

      Hi guys,

Can some one recommend a premium SEO plugin that is reasonably easy to use? There are plenty of plugins, but not all of them work as they say.

      Cheers

There are lots of factors when it comes to deriving traffic from the search engines especially Google.

If you didn't optimize your pages or SEO plugin well then it's going to suck.

If you pick the wrong keywords, it's going to suck.

And if your backlink is poor then automatically you don't stand any chance of ranking in the first page of Google.

        Retrace your step pls.

Yoast is one of the best SEO plugins out there.

Another option is the "all-in-one SEO", works well too.

As for my suggestion, make your site's content evergreen, always put yourself to your visitors shoes, if you are the visitor what are the things you might need for a website for example a law firm, what are the cases they handled? How about the Reviews and successful cases? type of lawyers something like that.
