The site is currently ranked in top 10 on Google for keywords like: legitimate surveys, legitimate surveys for money, how to find legitimate surveys for money and more.

Does link exchange still work in this era? I don't think so.

      It's not a link exchange.

To the OP, like Yukon said, you need to get someone to write something for you in English.

No offense but that's a horrible email example.

It looks like a 3rd grader tried to write the email message. If English isn't your language, hire someone to write/communicate with other webmasters on your behalf.

As a webmaster, If I've never mentioned surveys on my own site I would delete the email as soon as you mentioned the word survey (spam).

Another thing is, why would any other webmaster care about your Google traffic/keywords, that's useless info. for the webmaster handing out backlinks.

Yes, same niche link exchanges still work in 2013, you just have to use your head & not turn it into a spammy free for all.

Got to agree with Yukon on this one.....the email itself just looks like boilerplate text that to anyone receiving it, would think "this one has done the rounds".....

      Try to:
      a) improve the whole copy - period (remember - translation AND transcreation)
      b) personalise it - eg as a minimum, include their site name/URL in any correspondence, and reference something that they have written or offer on their site
      c) make it clear what you're offering - I've read your copy a few times, and it's very unclear what your actual proposition is......

Horrible, but at least you are trying to.

    Just use google:

    "SEO outreach samples"
"how to get webmasters link to your site"

    etc..

If you are a developer, you could write a web widget/plugin for them to use on their site that provides a backlink to yours. If the tool is good enough, people will be giving you backlinks without you even asking.

      Then what to create?

I link to surveys to make money, not because I make money with surveys ...

I want to rank there, providing people with good information.

Links exchange can work if both sites are on the same niche,
else it is not good for both sites.

Money talks and BS walks...I don't care how friendly you are, simply "begging" for a link isn't going to work.

Your angle should be 1) mutual benefit with content (guest posting, infographics, etc) or 2) paid transaction

Everything else is not beneficial to the person you are contacting, therefore he/she will not reciprocate.

Just be direct. Nothing wrong with what you have there. When I got long spiels about how I should link with them and blah blah blah I just delete straight away. Someone asked me straight up and without a long sales pitch, I am a lot more likely to accept.
