I am building a niche site with 3-4 posts of content. There are some cross-linking between those content. What is the best approach for me to update the content for the better ranking results? Thank you.

1. finish building the whole site and then open the gate to google indexation.
or
2. Add a content bit by bit and do the cross linking among those content.
or
other approach?

Your second approach is better than 1st approach

I think combination of both above written approaches are better for ranking.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I was about to post a similar thread and show your post. I have a similar case. I am about to get my health blog site live and I am planning to start with around 30+ blogs in different categories before I go live. I also have several instances of cross-linking between pages.

So which one is a better approach:
    a) Go live in Big Bang model with all the contents and let google index OR
    b) Go live with 50% contents and then schedule and publish 2-5 contents everyday

As of now, my research shows Approach B is better for syndication. But I will like to know from fellow warriors about their individual experiences.

I would also like to know if cross-linking external authority sites in my blog posts helps me in eyes of Search engine?

I think you have to first complete your website and then start online promotion or your website. If your website is like a portal and it takes many time to complete then you can start cross linking among those webpages content.

Keep fresh content supplied is normally better. I would open the site for indexing once the essentials are good (contact pages, terms, privacy etc.), front page etc...no broken links...and then slowly add more content.

Rather than posting new content on each interval, create Blog section on site and post fresh content there. Pass the links to site pages from those blog sections.

For such a small site, I don't think it makes any difference

Google normally indexes 11 to 13 pages of a new site when it finds it - that would cover your content pages and the mandatory pages such as privacy, contact us, etc.
