Posting Duplicate Non-spammy Content to Squidoo. Pros? Cons?
- SEO |
I am starting this thread in content marketing but its also related to SEO and traffic as well as conversion.
A client has really top-notch content at his site and we have bee mulling over posting the very same content (i.e. 100% duplicate) at Squidoo. The content is not salesy, affiliate marketing type of stuff but some very informative, useful, well researched content about a particular health niche. If its not an issue, we would also like to link the content at squidoo to the original site even though we know that Squidoo's links are no-follow.
Questions:
1. I had read a Matts Cutt statement which was on the lines that if the duplicate content is properly referenced and is not for the purpose of spam, there will be no harm in having such duplicate content. Also, please note that my client's has the google authorship rank and we are to post the content with his own name at squidoo.
So can this still hurt us with respect to SEO?
2. Does this strategy has any benefits with respect to SEO?
3. Does this strategy has any other benefits like being able to build an audience (over time of course) at Squidoo which we can then drive to our website?
Thanks everyone in advance
