Is It a Good Strategy to Write +3000 Words Articles for SEO?

Hi,

I've been thinking about it lately. I've seen some websites that rank very well just having a few high quality +3000 words articles with images and videos and a Google+ author profile. Or at least that's what the authors say they are doing.

What would happen if Google found a 4000 words article with LSI? Would it think it's crap? I don't think so.

I'm talking about writing superb quality guides here, very well-writen, very well structured and compelling.

Have you tried this? What's your opinion?

Some studies show that, pages with more than 2500 words, will be better to rank.

It seems that most successful bloggers are choosing that path and not without results.

It's an easy way to gain an advantage over your competitors.

Obvious you will not outrank them solely based on your content, you also need to attract back links but assuming all other factors are equal you will have an advantage with longer articles. Data already proved that.

If you make it that long, split it up into 6 pages of 500...cuz your
      visitors will be surfin' out.

I can't imagine the average joe shmo needing anything over 500 words
to answer a question or solve a problem. Wikihow seems to be doing

Just think if amazon.com did 3000 words...

Some pages warrant it, perhaps. Like wikipedia, squidoo, etc. But

Spliting up the pages can do the trick...I think 1000 words is more than ok. In-depth article has now become the part of latest google algoritham. Don't write a book just write till you conveyed your message.

As always that one 3,000 word page (or whatever amount) could be crushed in the SERPs with a dozen or so internal pages/links all focused on the same subject.

Grouping same subject pages is one of the rare times in SEO where more is better.

Leaving the back links out of the equation I seriously wonder what would rank better:

        - one 3000 word page
        - 12 pages of 250 words all linked together.

I feel the 3000 word page would perform better.

When links start coming in I suspect the 12 pages would do better, assuming the back links are spread over those 12 pages.

Perhaps I'll set up a test in the near future where I buy 2 domains, for example:

        testdomain1.com
        testdomain2.com

One 3000 word static homepage for site 1, 12 posts in one category for site two. Link all the posts to the first posts and build 1 high PR link to each post and build 12 high PR links to the homepage of site 1.

        Then we know for sure.

You can test all you want, that's a good thing but I already know the multi page setup would do better simply because the 3,000 words could be broken down into multiple pages focused on related keywords (each) of one large subject (with internal links).

Here's some tips & reasons I go with small groups of pages:
          • I can rank multiple internal pages per keyword without additional external links (once the first page is ranked), you can't do that with one 3,000 word page.
          • Google Sitelinks is mostly dependent on internal link structure, multiple groups of internal pages can get multiple Sitelink anchor-text targeting specific keywords. More links in the SERPs.

As far as testing with two different domains, make all the links to both sites come from the same external links/pages so your not getting skewed results because one external link happens to be stronger. If site-A has an external link, site-B has the same link on the same exact backlink page/s.

So # of words doesn't mean anything at all? Your the first knowledgeable person I've heard say that word count after 500 is arbitrary.

I've got a siloed site, I know about maximizing the # of related internal links, but I've also been making my landing pages ~1500+ words and the supporting articles 500 words. I've got a few 500 word landing pages that are also ranking, but I thought that had more to do with the competition than anything else.

So then on a slightly related question. How many times should I be internally linking my articles? I've got a link to all related pages coming from my sidebar, should I also be peppering my article with additional internal siloed links?

No, text volume doesn't mean anything as far as ranking a page. The needs & expectations of traffic is a whole other situation as far as what content is on the page. If the page is a biography about Albert Einstein (example) traffic expects a lot of text. If the page is a photo gallery of Albert Einstein, all I need is a heading tag & a caption for each image as far as text goes, both those pages can rank in Google SERPs, the amount of text on the page is irrelevant for SEO.

There can be situations where more text is needed for the page to make sense, you have to use your best judgement. Example, say I have 10 pages in a silo, it might make sense to write a short paragraph per 9 supporting pages on my category page in order for the page to make sense to traffic & to help get traffic to build links for that silo landing page (the main page for the silo). I could just as easily have all 9 of the supporting pages content be individual images (1 image per page) with a heading tag & short caption/description of the one image on my page/s. I would still rank whichever page I was trying to rank in the SERPs with internal/external links.

The flip side of a category page would simply be a list of URLs/links for all 9 supporting pages (HTML sitemap) but that would be next to impossible to get traffic to build links to that category page since it's only a list of URLs/links. As far as SEO, either way would work for ranking a page If your the one building all the external links, point the links wherever they're needed.

As always authority has to originate from somewhere (external links, PR) it doesn't just happen on it's own. So, you build high quality links & pass that authority down the line to the supporting pages and/or build external links to the supporting pages & pass authority up the line to the silo landing page, just depends on which of the silo pages needs the most help because of competition strength in the SERPs. Each page will have different needs based on what the traffic expects & how tough the individual page competition is in the SERPs (SEO).

The IM niche has twisted things like keyword density & word counting for SEO in order to sell more IM products (plugins, etc...). It's next to impossible to deprogram IM buyers once they've spent money on foolish IM products, I guess they can't let go of the fact they've been hoodwinked into buying into a hyped up sales page (ex: keyword density, counting words, etc...).

Bottom line is, counting words on a page is useless for SEO.

Cool you answered the question I was going to follow up with.

So I could actually make all of my third tier support pages images with a description and have a strong silo effect, no need to write 500 word support articles? Interesting. I may flesh out my site with placeholder images+descriptions and focus on backlinking?

You're focusing on irrelevant things. The word count of an article is one of them. Stop thinking to write or make a site "for SEO"...the question is do you want to throw a 4000 words article in front of your readers face....and if so..why?

And..G certainly doesn't assess your content usefulness and relevancy based on it's word count

Its not better strategy to write 3000 words because it become too long and reader would not read this long post.If you want to publish this article in article directories then most of the articles sites would not take this there is limit in between 300-500 words......

Anytime I have written long articles, I have seen no evidence that it increases rankings. But that's just my experience.

The rule of thumb is to look at what your competitors are doing and go from there. If you have a site on DIY carpentry, of course you can expect to have long articles. If you are writing on stuff like how to register a domain name, then your articles are going to be shorter.

I'm not sure multiple pages instead of one longer page is a sure-shot way to top rankings. Yukon's theory sounds pretty solid to me though. With that approach Yukon, if you wanted 1 specific page to rank, would you internal link all of the related ones all to that one page?

Instead of 3,000 words though, I'd say the average blog post should be closer to 1,500. That's a good amount of words without over-stretching the content. It really depends on the subject matter though and what you have to talk about. More content is always better, unless it dampers the reader's experience.

Yes I would link all the internal pages that are about the same subject. I want to point out that I wouldn't over optimize the pages (keyword stuffing), once that first page is ranked simply mentioning the keyword or a variation of the target keyword on the 2nd+ internal page/title is usually enough to get multiple pages ranked per keyword.

If that 2nd+ page doesn't rank because competition is tough it might take more internal link tweaking & possibly even more quality external links. I mean getting multiple pages ranked from one domain for the keyword auto insurance is going to be a heck of a lot more difficult than the keyword low cost auto insurance for teenagers (example keywords). Both keywords will generate the same money from a sales page but the auto insurance keyword is obviously a lot tougher competition.

My point is you still have to be realistic about sizing up competition. Longtail keywords are usually a lot easier to get multiple pages ranked from the same domain (per keyword).

Another thing is, even If I didn't rank #1 because taking out the #1 competition just isn't realistic, I would still research competition at positions #2 & #3 because If I can beat that competition (both SERP positions) it's still going to get some traffic & a dozen or so grouped internal pages will always pick up additional longtail traffic, it's still worthwhile.

Without sounding like I'm contradicting myself, I would still target the auto insurance keyword like I'm trying to rank even If I never expected to rank for that exact keyword, it makes ranking the real keywords a lot easier (ex: low cost auto insurance for teenagers). The goal here is passing relevancy back & forth between pages.

From personal experience, a 1500 word article does seem to do better than a 500 word article. (I don't have any stats to prove this though) However, above 1500 does not seem to make much difference.

What you should do is check the top 10 results for the keywords that you are targetting and see how many words on average the pages have.

      Lol, text volume doesn't matter.

That esurance page is mostly links.

You'll be wasting your time counting other sites on-page text. Look at their internal/external relevant pages pointing links at the ranked page.
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[8784403].message }}

^ Great example there, but that's also for a highly competitive keyword where I could see text volume mattering less. For a long-tail phrase, where you have a blog post ranking in the results, I could see text volume making a much more significant difference.

I'd imagine internal linking as you suggested would accomplish the same thing for a blog post, but who has time to do that for a blog post and why would you? More text on the page just makes the most sense.

You would do it for all the reasons I've listed in this thread & similar threads, the goal is more traffic, more ranked pages for target keywords equals more traffic.

It's funny how so many people work hard to rank 1 page at position #1 & ignore positions #2 & #3 for the exact same keyword. The first ranked page is always the hardest page to rank, so the hard work is done, go after ranking more internal pages for the same keyword, piggyback off the already ranked page (the first page).

Ranking a 3k word page will get you exactly one ranked page, both ways (1 page vs multiple pages) will still get the same longtail traffic.

More bang for your buck, same amount of external links, same amount of text/content. The extra time/work is minimal, on-page copy/pasting, creating new page titles/internal links.

      IMO that's a nobrainer.

Your not looking at what's ranking that page at SERP position #3.

That page has 200+ backlinks from 100% relevant web pages all talking about SEO/scrapebox.

Good grief, that exact URL/page you posted has a followed PR5 link directly from the scrapebox FAQ page, you can't buy a better link anywhere else as far as the scrapebox keyword goes.

Neil Patel also has a link on the scrapebox FAQ page, he ranks #2 for the scrapebox keyword.

Feel free to write 10,000 words, it's surely better than 9,000 words. Ignore backlinks, you won't need them since you'll have more text than anyone else, lol.

Losing The Fat, Keeping Your Muscle and Feeling Good

If you've been rather sedentary most of your life but now you wish to get rid of some fat and add on some muscle then we have some wise words to tell you. If you are beginning from scratch you will be better off simply easing into things than rushing into them. Getting a new diet and doing a full exercise program really quickly will probably end in disaster. Sure, there are a small number of folks who can just do this kind of thing. But the majority of people have a very difficult time sustaining those kinds of changes all at once. So we always advise you to just do things slowly, ease in your new exercise routine and your new diet.

A very important activity you can do is resistance training. There are many positive benefits to be gained with this approach to exercise. Regular resistance training has an important principle behind it. Your body will respond in a particular way with constant resistance training, and this is shown by scientific research. Your body comes to know that it should always look to fat stores to burn rather than burning muscle tissue. We think that is just an amazing thing about the body. So, with constant resistance training you will be developing your muscles and training your body to burn fat, not muscle. Most of us know about the consequences of no fat diets and other such similar diets. Indeed, a few people seem to think they must eliminate all fats from their diet completely. Fat loss will be a rare occurrence if you take this approach. The body will recognize that fat intake is at zero, so it will try and protect its fat reserves by going into conservation mode. So what the body or mind must think is there is no need to cling onto any fat. It's like the starvation mechanism but flipped the other way, so it's the exact opposite. Your body won't conserve the fat if it realizes that it's not needed. Instead fat will be burned off and the muscle won't be touched.

Here is a piece of wisdom that's old and has been in existence for quite some time. It is, however, certainly something that not everybody knows about, and it'll have an impact on your habits of eating. Chew your food many times and eat quite slowly. There is a time lag of about twenty minutes after your stomach is full and your brain gets the message.
So, by eating at a quick rate you will throw your body off, resulting in you overeating because you don't feel full right at that moment. Indigestion can be avoided by simply chewing your food thoroughly. And before the food gets into your stomach you will be able to start the process of digestion earlier as there are enzymes in your saliva.

When you want to burn fat, not muscle, then explore all the various methods and little tricks you can use to great effect. The overall process has a lot of flexibility built into it just because there are many methods that will work well.

You Don't Have to Battle with Weight Loss

How many times do you stare at yourself in the mirror and wish that you had some magical way of changing your body from the way it is now to the way you've always wished it would be? How often do you think "I could stand to lose a pound or two." How often do you pair these thoughts and wishes with wishes for easier workout routines, more time and energy for cooking healthy food and less desire to simply drive through the nearest drive through window? These are common wishes. No matter what you weigh right now, you have probably wished to lose a few pounds at least once in your life. Here are some weight loss tips and hints that you can use to help you get started the right way.

For many, losing weight is all about math. You need to burn more calories than you bring in. This forces your body to burn through its fat stores so that you will have energy and be able to function. Calorie counting is not very much fun. It's easy to get overwhelmed by it because each food carries differently weighted calories. Remember-you want to take in calories that your body can use instead of just storing them.

Work with a health care professional to figure out exactly how many calories you should be burning each day to keep up with your weight loss efforts. Always remember that you won't have any success with your diet if you don't pair it with a workout. Even if you cut your diet down drastically to a few hundred calories (not a recommendation by any means) you won't lose weight if you don't exercise as well. Even if the hardest thing you do is going for a walk each afternoon, you'll have more success with your weight loss. It build your energy which helps you burn calories, tone your muscles and keep your plan focused.

Take steps to ensure that the calories you consume come from healthy foods. Eating empty calories makes weight loss so much harder. These are calories that are found in sugary foods and snacks. If you don't eat empty calories you will help speed up your weight loss considerably. You only want to consume calories from foods that are helpful to your body. This will keep your body from shoving those extra calories into your fat cells and increasing your weight. Eating a good and healthy diet is the best way to achieve your weight loss goal.

Many people are worried about weight loss. Just about everybody thinks that he (or she) could stand to lose a pound or five. Losing weight can be perfectly healthy, if you approach it the right way. If you try to use unhealthy methods to lose pounds, you will be more likely to not lose any weight at all or to quickly gain back any weight you do lose. If you aren't sure how to go about losing weight, you should ask a doctor or trained healthcare professional to help you.

Math and Fat reduction As soon as you tell people that you would like to lose weight, you are going to start getting flooded with advice. Most of them can have the most beneficial intentions. They will need you to have the ability to get to your goal weight as quickly as you can. The thing you might hear the most of the time is going to be "weight loss is only math." The core of this notion is true. Obviously, that doesn't make the process any easier. Nobody tells you where to get comfort in the math when you're combating the urge to chow down on your beloved chips or feel too tired to exercise after work. Keep reading through to find the wellness you need. The key of weight reduction math is pretty simple. If you intend to shed some pounds, you will need to burn through more calories than you take in every day. Not only will this make the body use what you place in it, it will make use of what it has stored up too. Your body needs energy to perform and that is why it stores fat in the first place--so that there is something to keep you going if you don't eat enough during the day.

If an individual exercise only enough to burn up through all of the calories you eat that day then logic tells us your weight shouldn't go up or down. If you work out enough that you just burn through the calories you soak up each day, you will lose weight because your body will be forced to use the stores of fat cells to help you keep working out and to go about the rest of your day. One method to deal with the math could be to reduce the calories you eat every day. Your doctor will take the height, current health and medical history into account to come up with a healthy calorie count. This does a couple of things: it gives you an ambition number and a beginning for your diet plan. It can help you figure out how intensive your workout must be every day.

Willpower, on a surface level, is at the heart of the matter. It requires discipline to stop ingesting after you've reached your caloric intake for the day. You require discipline to work out each day to burn through the calories you consume. The easiest way to stay disciplined is to learn all you can about exercising so you will know how much is needed to burn any extra calories that you consume. Is that 20 ounce sugary pop really worth the hour (or more) of jogging on the treadmill you will need to do to lose those calories? If you are able to see just how much work is needed to counteract a potentially unhealthy decision, it should be simpler to make smart choices (like choosing a bottle of water).

Psychology takes on a crucial purpose here too. The math concepts of fat reduction only scratches the surface of the issues you will confront as you deal with losing weight and improving your health. This is exactly why you should work with somebody who is educated in health and weight loss-they can help you figure out which approach is best for your weight loss goals.

How To Feel Good About Burning Fat and Keeping Muscle

If your life was quite laid back and sedentary and now you've decided to do something about it by gaining muscle and losing fat then we have some words of caution. For those starting from nothing they shouldn't rush things but rather take it all slowly. Getting a new diet and doing a full exercise program really quickly will probably end in disaster. Sure, there are a small number of folks who can just do this kind of thing. But trying to accommodate all of those changes at once will prove to be hard for most people. So the best advice we can give is that you slowly ease in your dietary and exercise changes.

An eclectic approach, where you pick a number of methods, is probably one of the better ways to burn fat and not muscle. You will find out that various methods work together much better than others, so bare this in mind. However, no matter what, to have the best success you will need to make positive changes with your eating habits. Doing this with your diet isn't too difficult in regards to the amount of information available about the subject. The next thing requires that you take a look at the exercise you do. Of course we are assuming you are already exercising regularly, but if not - that is fine, too. In regards to working out, you will need to look out for the exercises that you feel you can continue to do. It is no secret that you will have a higher rate of retention with your workouts if you truly enjoy them.

Punishing yourself by doing a workout that includes exercises you dislike is silly. Also, perception is very important here because some are clearly better than others. If you like to keep tabs on things like your performance times then you can look at how well you're doing. The non-competing folks out there should not be too harsh on themselves if they feel that they are. Out point regarding your workout is that you should just focus on how it went and look at the positive side of it.

You will often see bodybuilders eating more smaller meals during a normal day rather than the usual three meals. Using this approach is good for everyone, even if you're not a bodybuilder. There are various methods available so there is some flexibility. The main reason for doing this strategy is that the smaller but more frequent meals will keep the digestive processes running. Many calories will be burnt off by the digestive process as digesting food will use calories. Also, eating smaller meals will make your stomach smaller. And of course, you will consume less food by having a smaller stomach.

We've seen various ways of maintaining lean muscle mass whilst burning off fat with some scientific and common sense approaches. Everything works perfectly fine, just try to apply some common sense with things though.

Deciding Whether or not Fat Loss Pills are the Right Choice

For anyone trying to lose weight, fat loss tablets offer a simple solution. Which one do you pick, after you have made the decision to take pills to lose weight, because there are a multitude of products, both prescription and over the counter. The purpose of this article is to look at some basic facts regarding fat loss tablets and how to choose the products that are right for you.
There is a diet supplement that comes from natural substances named Adapexin and it requires a subscription. Losing weight can happen easily when your appetite is taken away like these pills do. These diet pills have several active ingredients, one of which is Phenylethylamine, known to affect your mood by uplifting it.

Two other substances in Adapexin are Glucomannan, for lowering hunger pains, and caffeine, to boost your metabolism. Some diet pills try to add many natural substances, and this one adds raspberry ketones, ginger root, as well as Vitamin B12. Your satisfaction is what the company making Adapexin wants, so they are offering a money back guarantee for the lifetime of their product. It is obvious that losing weight is individualistic, and not every pill will work for everyone, and Adapexin is like that, too. Another diet tablet that can be used, coming in non-prescription form, as well as prescription, is Orlistat. You might want to choose Xenical, the prescription pill, since it targets the digestive system, causing less fat to be digested, rather than dealing with metabolism. Stopping fat from being digested is why you would take Xenical, and about one-third is not digested. With this drug some fat is still digested, so you will need to be careful about your fat and calorie intake. If you want a less potent form of Orlistat, it is possible to find them in products that are over the counter. Side effects, such as bowel movement changes, can happen when taking Orlistat.

What you are getting with your fat loss pills is something you really ought to know. Unfortunately what the bottle says the product contains is not always true. China and Brazil are two of the countries that are manufacturing diet pills, and they list the ingredients in languages other than English. If you don't know what is in the pill you are taking, how will you know if it is safe or even works? Unless you can understand what is in a pill, then you should look for one where to can understand. If you're not sure about something, research it first. You don't want to take some strange pill and get strange side effects, as this has happened to more than a few people.
When it comes to weight loss supplements, there is no easy conclusion. For one thing, there are so many to choose from, and these range from all natural foods to prescription drugs. If you want to use one of these products, make sure you've looked up as much information as you can find before taking it. Since they might not give you complete information, don't count entirely on the sellers website or the manufacturer's website.

How often do you look in the mirror, stare at your reflection and fervently wish that there was some sort of magic powder or pill you could use to instantly shift your body to become the size and shape you've always dreamed it could be? How often do you tell yourself "I need to lose some weight now." How often are these wishes and thoughts paired with wishes for more energy for exercising, more time for cooking, more desire to eat healthy foods and less cravings for salty and fatty junk you can get at a fast food restaurant? Just about every person has wished for these things. No matter what your weight currently is, it is likely that you have wished to lose weight before. Here are some weight loss tips and hints that you can use to help you get started the right way.

Speak with a doctor. You and your doctor will work together to decide what an ideal weight for you is. Your ideal weight will be based on your medical history, your lifestyle and your height. As soon as your goal is identified your doctor will tell you the best way to reach it. A medical professional is an expert in diet and exercise. Together you and your doctor will decide what your calorie intake should be while you work to shed pounds. Your doctor can even help you to put together a fitness routine to help you burn calories and meet your goal. Don't try to do this all alone. A doctor will help you decide upon a weight loss goal that is healthy.

In addition to your regular aerobic and cardio workouts, make sure that you do some strength training each day too. You might think that you only need to increase your endurance and heart rate. The simple fact is that, without strength training, you can never increase the effectiveness or intensity of your workout routine. Gradually increasing your workout intensity is what helps you get into shape and stay fit.

If you hit an exercise plateau you will have a harder time staying in shape and losing weight. If you want to get healthier than you are right now, strength training is a must.

Track your food intake for a while in a journal. In the long run, even though it seems like a giant pain to do, keeping a food journal can be quite helpful.

The idea behind the food journal is not to count every single calorie that you consume (though that can be very helpful when you need to plan a workout). Keeping a food journal will help you track your cravings and the different foods you eat out of habit. This is how you make your diet successful: you replace junk foods with healthy foods that have the same basic taste as the junkier stuff you crave. For example: try eating real strawberries instead of strawberry flavored ice cream or candy. Your food journal will help you with this because it will increase the likelihood that your diet will be successful.

Weight loss is something that every person ponders at least once in his or her life. The key to finishing a successful weight loss program is to come at it with the right attitude and to keep yourself inspired so that you don't give up. If you keep a positive outlook and find a way to put a positive spin on your program you are more likely to complete it and get down to your desired weight!

The Numbers of Weight Loss As soon as people discover that you want to lose weight they are going to start showering you with advice. Most of those men and women will be well meaning. They will need you to have the capacity to get to your goal weight as quickly as you can. The thing you are going to hear the most frequently is going to be "losing weight is only math." The key of this thought is basically true. Obviously knowing it's mathematics doesn't make the route simpler to travel. Nobody lets you know how to take solace in the math when you're wanting to avoid your favorite unhealthy snack foods or when you are too tired to keep working out. This document can help you with that component of it. The heart of weight loss mathematics is very simple. If you would like to shed pounds, you need to burn up more calories than you eat each day. This will pressure your body to make use of what you take in that day as well as start using the fat that it has stored. You need energy to keep moving and survive and that's why your body stores fat to begin with; it will give you something to burn if you don't eat enough calories every day. If a person exercise only enough to burn up through all of the calories you eat that day then logic tells us your weight shouldn't go up or down.

If you do enough exercise that you burn through all of the calories you consume, your body will turn to your fat stores to assist you to keep exercising and get through the rest of your day. The primary way to deal with this problem is to lower the amount of calories you take in each day. Your physician will help you determine what a healthy number is for your height and lifestyle. This does a pair of things: it gives you a goal number and a beginning for your diet plan. All physical exercise burns calories so creating a calorie count tells you how much exercise is necessary from you. From right here, at surface level, it really is about self-control. You must be self-disciplined to be able to cease eating after you've arrived at your daily calorie goal. You need discipline to exercise everyday to burn through the calories you eat.

The best way to stay disciplined is to learn all you can about exercising so you will know how much is necessary to burn any extra calories that you consume. Is shelling out more than an hour at the gym well worth twenty ounces of soda pop? If you are able to see the amount of work is needed to counteract a potentially unhealthy decision, it should be easier to make smart choices (like choosing a bottle of water). Of course, there is certainly psychology at work right here too. Weight loss math is only a surface level answer to the issues that are often associated with weight loss and getting healthy. This is why it is so crucial for you to work together with another person who knows the right way to approach health and weight reduction smartly-- they'll help you decide on a good approach for meeting a weight loss goal.

When it comes to burning fat and not muscle there is a very interesting aspect to it all which involves the way in which the body reacts to various things. To give an example, there are people out there who believe that getting rid of their daily fat intake is needed, so the only foods they eat contain no fats at all. There's a quick and very sudden drop in the amount of fats they eat.
The problem with doing this is that your body will store fat. We don't want to do that here as your body will attempt to keep a hold of every last bit of fat on your body.

The body needs a bare minimum amount of fat each and every day, which is supplied through diet, so being extreme with your intake isn't good. The following tips will help you to keep muscle and burn fat.

A vital activity you can engage in is resistance training. Many benefits can be obtained by this approach. There is an important principle involved with regular resistance training. Your body will respond in a particular way with constant resistance training, and this is shown by scientific research. Your body knows to look for fat to burn rather than muscle tissue. In the body, we think that this is ingenious. So, with constant resistance training you will be developing your muscles and training your body to burn fat, not muscle. The effects of diets like starvation diets and no fat diets are well known by most. Indeed, a few people seem to think they must eliminate all fats from their diet completely. When going down this route you will probably not lose any fat. The body is smart and it'll realize that there's no more fat intake, so it'll start to conserve fat. So part of the trick here is to make the body, or brain, think that there is no need at all for fat. It's pretty much the opposite of the effects of starvation. When your body decides it does not need it, then it will not act to conserve it. Instead, your body will feel free to burn the fat but not the muscle.

A lot of the time you'll see bodybuilders consuming many small meals throughout the day rather than three bigger ones. Even if you are not a bodybuilder, this is still a solid approach you can use. There are various methods available so there is some flexibility. The primary reasons for using this strategy is that smaller meals will keep your digestion going. The digestive process will actually burn a lot of calories just digesting the food. Also, eating smaller meals will make your stomach smaller. And when your stomach is much smaller you'll end up eating much less. There are many flexible approaches if you want to burn fat and not your muscles. This is very good as it means there's variation and choice when trying to complete your goal.

As the years go by, fat loss tablets are created claiming to be able to help you lose weight very quickly by taking their supplements. The problem is finding out which ones are actually the best for you. Deciding on a fat loss pill solution requires understanding several different factors which we will discuss now.

One way that you can lose weight is by drinking green tea, a beverage that many people enjoy, although some do not find it very tasty. For those of you that do not like the taste of green tea, you can always take a tablet or capsule to get the same results. If you drink coffee or black tea on a regular basis, the caffeine will also help increase your metabolism, something that green tea does without some of the after affects. If you want to burn fat more efficiently, you can drink green tea which also has antioxidants which are very healthy. In fact, green tea is considered one of the safest weight lost products that you can take today.

There are many different diet pills, and Decaslim is one of them, that now contain super-foods because of their weight loss properties and for helping you get better health. There are a variety of diet pills that are not drugs, but nutritious whole foods, and Lipovox and Decaslim fit into this category. Some of the ingredients in Decaslim include green tea, Conjugated Linoleic Acid, which acts as a fat blocker, and many other healthy foods, including blueberries, broccoli and flaxseed. If you take it regularly, Decaslim is healthy and safe, but for losing the weight you want, you will still need some exercise and watch your calorie intake.

What you are getting with your fat loss pills is something you really ought to know. While this seems obvious, it's not always so easy with this type of product. China and Brazil are two of the countries that are manufacturing diet pills, and they list the ingredients in languages other than English. What makes people choose to take a pill that they have no idea whether it is safe, or works at all, or what is even in it? You don't need to understand what every ingredient does, but you should know what is in the product you want to take. Always do some research to learn about a product you want to take. People should start being a lot more concerned about what they put into their bodies, because some side effects never go away. Although there are many to choose from, only few of the fat loss tablets available have actually been proven to help people lose weight. You should always compare the different products that are available; feel free to use this article as reference as you make your choice. You may also want to ask your doctor for a recommendation on the best weight loss products to take. What you need to remember is that even though the fat loss tablets may help you lose weight, it is your responsibility, in the end, to do so.

Are You Thinking About Losing Weight?
People throughout the western world are concerned about weight loss. As time passes we are getting more and more conscious of our weight and health. There are lots of reasons for this. Every man or woman has individual reasons for wanting to lose weight and inches. No matter what your reasons are, it is important that you approach losing weight with the right mindset. It is not good to lose weight without regard for consequences or costs. Thankfully there are plenty of ways to help you lose pounds as well as inches. If you are honestly worried about losing weight read this article. It can help!

Take progress pictures of yourself. You may hate the idea of having a "before" photo. Suck it up and take at least one photo anyway. Take photos at least once a week as you work on your weight loss program. A before and after photo are not enough. You need multiple photos to illustrate your process. This will help keep you inspired to keep working on your weight. It's easier to keep after a goal if you can literally see your progress toward it. Sometimes what we see in the mirror is not enough. We need the photo to compare ourselves to when we start to worry about whether or not we are having any success with our weight loss programs.
Don't use the word "diet" for your new eating habits. Call it "eating better" or something like that. The word "diet" has taken on a negative connotation. When you refer to your new habits as "a diet" you are a lot more likely to resent them than if you call them what they are: "new healthy eating habits." Instead of using words associated with negative emotions, use positive and action based words to describe the choices you are making. Using these types of phrases will help you when people ask you why you are eating differently (or less often) and it will help you feel more proactive about the choices you are making.

Take steps to ensure that the calories you consume come from healthy foods. Eating empty calories makes weight loss so much harder. These are calories that come from sugars and junk foods.

Everybody is worried about weight loss. Think about it: how many people do you know that are on a diet right now? How many people in your social circle have complaints about their weight? You are not alone--everybody worries about weight. You just have to be smart about your approach to weight loss. If you want to find success with weight loss it is imperative that you approach your diet the right way. We hope that these tips will help you get the right start.
Math and Weight-loss As soon as people discover that you might want to lose weight they are going to start showering you with suggestions. Most of them may have the very best intentions. They wish to allow you to reach your goal weight as quickly as possible. The most typical thing people will say is that "losing fat is simple math."

The thought is mainly correct. Obviously this will not likely make your journey any simpler. Nobody will let you know where to find help in the math when you need to stay away from your favorite snacks or don't feel up to working out. This posting will help you with that. The center of weight reduction math is pretty simple. If you would like to shed pounds, you need to burn up more calories than you eat each day. This will force your body to make use of what you consume that day as well as start burning up the fat that it has stored. You need energy to keep moving and alive and that's why your body stores fat to begin with; it will give you something to burn should you not eat enough calories every day. If you perform enough exercise to burn off all of the calories you take in, logic states that your weight should stay exactly where it is now. If you do enough exercise that you burn through all of the calories you eat, your body will use your fat stores that will help you keep exercising and get through the rest of your day. The first way to take care of your issue is to consume fewer calories everyday. Your physician will work with you to create a healthy calorie count for your height, historical past and lifestyle. This does two things: it gives you an ambition number and a beginning for your diet plan. It also tells you how much exercise you'll want to do each day (all exercise burns calories). On the surface it seems like almost everything is focused on discipline.

It will take discipline to stop ingesting after you've achieved your caloric intake for the day. It will take discipline to keep working out so you can burn through your unhealthy calories. The best way to stay disciplined is to find out everything you can about how much exercise it takes to burn through the extra calories you take in. Is that 20 ounce sugary soft drink really worth the hour (or more) of jogging on the treadmill you'll need to do to obliterate those calories? If you are capable of see how much work is needed to counteract a potentially unhealthy decision, it should be simpler to make smart choices (like choosing a bottle of water). Psychology represents a significant purpose here too. Weight loss math just handles the surface level of what you are about to go through as you work to lose some pounds and get healthy again. This is why you need to work with someone who is aware of about health and losing weight--they will be able to help you figure out healthy goals and a good approach to your weight loss issues.

I gave up on writing articles for backlinks a long time ago when they stopped affecting my ranking. If you're going to take the time to write large articles, just put it on your main website and promote that through social media. it will attract backlinks naturally of its own.

I guess you mean article directories.

Writing articles for article directories has nothing to do with ranking pages (the actual article), the articles are requirements to get a link because that's what some webmaster that owns the article directory want's in exchange for giving out free links (they get free content (ex: EZA)). It doesn't mean the article is doing anything as far as SEO goes. PRn/a pages buried on article directories is a crappy link for SEO.

It's the same with most Adsense publishers on IM forums, they misunderstood the article directory spamfest for getting backlinks as a requirement for having Adsense on their own pages, it's not, Google doesn't care what the content is as long as it follows their Adsense TOS.

I think 1500 words is ok length for a homepage article, but wouldnt go above 1000 words for a post in most cases.

As a general rule of thumb, more text content on a page = higher rankings in Google, if all other considerations are held equal.

What would happen if Google found a 4000 words article with LSI? Would it think it's crap? I don't think so.

I'm talking about writing superb quality guides here, very well-writen, very well structured and compelling.

Have you tried this? What's your opinion?
For the love of Christ, don't write for SEO but write for humans.

A lot of times I have seen people treat Google like a human and that piss me off!

Google doesn't give better rankings if you add more words to a page. Seems to be a common myth on internet forums.

    Keyword: conjugation
Ranked at #3 in Google for that keyword.
    Site: conjugation.org

Ranks #1 for numerous long tail keywords e.g conjugate spanish verbs.

This site has exactly one banner ad, one header and hardly any words and apart from the banner there are no links on the page.

I've experimented this on 5 of my sites. When you go over 1000, the difference is little. 800-900 is the sweet spot. That said, word count alone can't get you to top.

A direct answer will be "NO"..

    Indirectly, I can say "YES",

If you are going to optimize long article, make sure it supports all the on-page optimization elements...it should be supported by facts, data, should look natural with the help of table, graph, images, heading, highlights, list, reviews etc.

I have 2 options: 500 words of very good quality or 1000 words of decent quality. Which is better for search engines? Of course, quality will always win over quantity at the end of the day, but does the amount of the words affect search engines? I just setup my first website, so it is more like a test right now to see, how things work.

You are absolutely correct! Quality will always trump quantity. So I would go with the 500 word article since it is of very good quality. The main thing is to make sure your articles are providing true value to the readers. That's what the search engines want. As far as word count goes I would say a minimum of 400.

I agree that quality trumps quantity - not only in article quality but also where you submit the articles. Just speaking from personal experience, writing one good article on a high PR site such as sbwire or prbuzz will get much better results than submitting 10 mediocre articles to, say, enzines or article directories hoping to direct traffic to your offer.

I'd go for 800 words of high quality, informative content. Guides are a blast these days. As a reader, I'd rather not read long articles describing something, so if you have overly long content, you'd risk losing visitors right off the bat. As a writer, I know that 500 words may not be enough to provide the juice your reader needs.

My clients ask me to write varying lengths, ie. 500 words, 600 words, 800 words, 1200 words because they say that's how Google likes it.

      Hope my $0.02 helps.

    • Heya Empirrr,

First, what is "good quality content" and "decent quality content"? I need to see some samples, preferably a sample with 500++ words of "good quality content" and another sample with 1,000++ words of "decent quality content" -- I for one define "good quality content" as a written material that can answer the most pressing questions, solve the most urgent problems and satisfy the most immediate needs of the target readers about the niche and topic, written in a way that would also be entertaining, educational and informative for them, and integrated with a tone that they can relate to.

Second, I define "article length" as the depth of the content that must be provided to the target readers. With this, a longer article will have sections to cover more sub topics, and these should of course be relevant to the main topic and to the problems, needs and questions of the target readers.

Third, in terms of SEO -- By covering more sub topics, the article could also naturally target other relevant keywords and/or LSI keywords. Also, if you integrate relevant royalty free stock photos/images or even videos into the content material and use target keyword-relevant alt text for those images/photos and videos, then the content material could rank for image searches and video searches. These are based on the tests that we've done with 300++-word content materials without images/photos or videos and 1,500++-word content materials with images/photos and videos.

My advice: Test these things out. Best of luck! ;P

In most cases, 500 words won't rank on Google. 1000 words has a better chance.

But here's the thing - don't write for Google. Write for readers.

If your readers love your content, so will search engines. (it's a lot more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it)

You link from other sites you own or control. You ask webmaster whose visitors would benefit from your content for a link. You buy them. You post articles on other people's sites.

You don't just write. Even if you can write at Shakespeare's level.

That's the part the 'content is king' crowd misses.

Are you talking about the meta description? If so my advice is to write something short with the goal of getting the end user to click through to your site. Don't worry too much about keywords and don't write a long description with every known related keyword in it. The meta description is for the end user. Plus if you can increase your CTR from Google that can move you up in the SERPS.

Wow guys this is a seriously interesting page to me as I'm a relative novice when it comes to SEO and am confused by the whole shebang but the general consensus on here seems to be that longer isn't necessarily better.
