Wordpress information site adsense themes suggestions

Hello, i have just set up a domain and hosting for a new website i am going to work on, on the side.

Its just going to be an information site with pages / blog posts about certain topics.

The aim is to have adsense and also affiliate links through out but im really struggling to find anything i like.

I am a web designer part time, i think thats the problem. I am setting my hopes to high by using just the themes that you can browse from within wordpress.

Any suggestion on a clean / modern looking free theme i can just use for the time being?

    With information sites, what matters is ease of use and ad placement. A simple theme with effective ad placement is what brings home the bacon.

    Went with the expound theme:

    WordPress › Expound « Free WordPress Themes

    Really clean design. Have removed the comments, and done some custom work so that no side bar is shown on phones and instead mobile size adverts are only shown.

    Have the ads in the right side bar.
