Hi guys,

I`ve bought afew domains now and kinda of know what to look for when buying expired domains but I`ve just had a rush of blood to my head and but a bid on a domain on godaddy that has a strong link profile and looks good in all the majestic and Moz stats ect..

But its Japanese and of course all the anchor text linking to the domain is Japanese so I guess its difficult to if any of the links are spammy ect .. the site was selling Iphones or reviewing them its difficult to tell.

But is it a mistake to buy Japanese expired domains for a PBN ? , of course I would much rather have an English language site but whats the views from you guys when faced with what `looks` like a really strong domain ??

James

Most sites that are reviewing things have a spammy back link profile by nature.

If you're not sure you can look at the amount of links and do a PR check, then check the OBL of those PR links to get a quick idea whether it's just blog comment type of spam or that it are legit links.

Personally I avoid domains with primarly Arab, Chinese or Japanese anchor profiles, however when you compare it to domains with an English or let's say European back link profile then those non abc ones are often much stronger and for a lower price.

A good purpose could be to use them to funnel link juice to weaker English domains.

The thing that is really bad is buying spammy domain, most of the times it is hard to detect such a domain and this is why most of the SEO campaigns and PBNs fail.

This is the major issue. For a private network there is no reason to avoid domains just because they are in another language. English being a secondary language in many countries it is not unusual. The thing is you should check the websites for content.

and this is why most of the SEO campaigns and PBNs fail.
Most networks fail because they buy worthless domains or put crap content on them.

There is no reason why a genuine Japanese site in the Japanese language would not link to a US based site so I don't see why it would be a bad thing to have a domain with Japanese language links in your PBN.

You don't use Google translate to create content. You use it just to get a sense of what the pages are about. For that its very adequate.

So a Japanese ccTLD that has a history of being hosted in Japan, suddenly has a host in the US with English content instead of what one would expect (Japanese).

Too much thinking going on, considering there's millions of English domains for sale.

Pure crap. A) please point us all to the evidence that Google records the locations of all domains hosting even after they have gone off line. Thats the only way anyone could determine what anyone "would expect". Plus get a clue. Companies do not need to have their sites hosted in the country they have physical presence in. B) Nothing in this thread has mentioned Japanese Tlds so my replies in this thread have zero reference to Tlds. I rarely come across one in auctions but there are a ton load of .coms run by companies in a number of asian countries.

Too much nonsense thinking from you considering there are nowhere near a million english domains for sale with solid links. Once again you show you have no clue what you are talking about.
