Question about Local Listings - Registering more than 1 physical address? Advisable?

Hi Warriors

I am currently dealing with a client who would like to have a strong Google local listing presence - he wants to target at least 10 suburbs spreas throughout the city.

I understand that 1 physical address may limit us to 5 suburbs of choice (is this accurate?)

So we are thinking of registering another address (his brother's location) to target 5 more suburbs.

Is this against Google's T/C? Considering my client is a roofer, he could say that he has an office at one location and a warehouse at the other?

Any help appreciated

Doesn't places limit itself to 1 city, and no division in sub urbs?

    Hey mate,

You could register a second "office" at the brother's place, but keep something in mind: being a roofer, addresses for both locations will be hidden on the listing itself, but you'll have to plaster the brother's address all over the internet in the form of citations in order to rank well.

Now, since the address is technically not a business address, personally, I wouldn't do it. Your client will have to remember each time that some callers will be calling a "local" boy only to find out he's located in another city. As a customer, that just wouldn't sit right, even if that other city is only 20 minutes away. If I call a guy, I want to know the office is where the company actually does business.

Finally, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it against trade rules / law to have more than one office listed without a special license / registration with the governing body for roofing companies? I'm nearly certain that's the case here in Canada, and with most roofers in the USA it's the case in their home state.

You should avoid this avenue and rank the website or do PPC for the other locations. Their are easier and more legit ways to reach a wider market.

If you do the website, do some research online about creating a site for SAB (service area businesses). There are some great tips online for creating multiple location pages.
