Good question. I was just looking into this no more than a few hours ago. A quick search of these forums had people suggesting Traffic Travis, ScrapeBox and a few SERP sites that work up to some point at least.

I use a program 'Rank Checker' - free download and works great! There's also a plugin I've used for WP sites (don't remember the name though).

There are a TON of places you can find your ranking, just google it.
Go to the website below for the free download.
Note-there's no link, just copy and paste it (I don't put links in the WF anymore).

      link-assistant.com/rank-tracker/

      Hope this helps.

Advanced Web Ranking and Rankcheckerace.com. Link Assistant's Rank Tracker also seems to be a decent tool.

All these tools are worst tool to find the keyword ranking on Google. Do you guys know the internal work of Google and how the Google show the keywords result on a particular region. Use proxy websites to find the accurate keyword SERP.

So you're blasting all the SERP tracker tools out there. What would you suggest then? How many have you actually tried?

Many of these tools are using proxy servers to check the SERPs (because of throttling among other reasons) so that's not a very convincing argument.

Just to check - do you know even the basics about google search sites, languages, personalized search etc?

Well, it sure didn't sound like it in the thread you started... What exactly do you mean by "proxy website"? Why are you recommending the thing you're recommending?

You know, you can just ask Google for the data you want to see.

SERP trackers are a way to automate the boring task of trying to find your site for a keyword. It's tedious even if you're on the first page. I'm only tracking 5 phrases for my own site, and wouldn't want to waste my time browsing the SERPs.

That's something I'm trying to avoid. My test project is around 82th for one particular keyword in one particular Google search. Tomorrow it might not be there at all. Why would you do that to yourself?

Checking manually is time-consuming. It also seems to be a common source of errors. You tend to forget that you're logged in your Google account, and you don't always remember what kind of browser settings or proxy services you happen to have.

ProRankTracker has a free account, and there are other free services out there.

Humans fail in basic tasks all the time, but a tool is programmed to use the parameters you input on the first run. Of course it's possible that there's a problem somewhere, but it's unlikely. And even then only a handful of data points would get wrong. Next run would put your graph back on track.

SERP tracker is a computer program, not something you need to be taking on faith.
