Do you loose your ranking if you change or edit something within a post that you publish on your blog...?

Yep, they will drop like a brick for a while and may even disappear completely, but they soon come back again, don't worry

How did you edit it? What did you do to it?

If you added a bunch of hidden text then YES, if not, it doesn't seem likely provided your URL didn't change, but if it did do a 301 redirect from the old url to the new one and you should be good to go.

    Peace,

Haha, perhaps you made it SEO unfriendly
it is too early to say, wait a couple of weeks and see what happens, if you do not improve or get back your rankings, undo the changes you just made.

"Made better" is not really a sufficient description of your edits. If that's the most verbose explanation we're going to get, I bet the answers are going to be very vague too.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

        What's your excuse?

It would really depend on how much editing you intend doing.

YOU SAY – “I make the post more seo friendly for better ranking.”
Why do you need to do this?

Better you write a new post and forget about the old one –
    Play it safe!

    All the best. Regards.

Depend on content you edit to. Let illustrated simple logic, Google rank your page with "best boot sales" and then you change content to shoes sales. So in this case, ranking may lost as new content is more different than original ranking.

It depends on your content. If you edited it and it has gotten worse, then there's a high chance Google will drop the ranking.

Wait few days and see any changes in ranking. If not rollback all changes..
