Hi,

I have a couple of dollars to spend on my affiliate websites. Based on your experience, which one to start, whether SEO or PPC?

Thanks

SEO is cheaper as in free most of the time besides your time ( Which is valuable in itself obviously ) but takes a lot longer to see results.

Pay per click is instant traffic that can be profitable now when done right.

Always use as many traffic sources as possible so you are not keeping all your eggs in one basket.

If you don't have experience with PPC, you'd better factor that in. There is a learning curve and sometimes even very experienced marketers have a hard time getting it to convert.

if you invest in SEO you must be aware of every google update and add money to recover from it
but PPC is good for instant result and you will not be afraid from Google update

If all you have is "a couple of dollars", then you obviously can't even think about PPC.

PPC is more targeted, more likely to bring you conversions, gets you where you want to be faster than SEO, makes you money, and costs you money (when you do it right).

SEO doesn't have to cost you money, but it's a long-term traffic strategy, it's unpredictable, and it's widely misunderstood and abused in the Internet marketing community.

    Take your pick.

There is quite a learning curve with PPC, took me a month to learn, but it is worth it. I can get instant sales on affiliate products, build a list, and get traffic whenever you need it. To me, SEO is not worth it because I can spend my money and not be sure of my results. Plus, your rank can go down after all your hard work. If I were you I would start with Facebook PPC and send the traffic to a squeeze page.

Split the money and do both, if you spend all funds one way and it doesn't make conversion, you are stuck.

Would suggest you to put 50/50 in SEO and Ads. SEO on the easier money keywords first, as once you are ranked your site views are 24/7 for people searching for the search terms.

Don't split money 50/50, rather do it 3/4 for PPC and 1 for SEO. Why this proportion? Because of you will have more money to buy traffic and your position on Google for a longer period of time, until you achieve it with SEO. This means that with PPC campaign you can expect to have conversions which will make you more money which you can furthermore reinvest in more SEO and PPC. If you don't have conversions doing PPC than you should not waste your time doing SEO at all. And with PPC you will have fast results on is your site profitable or not.

If you are looking for the long term result with less money stop thinking about ppc. SEO is long term and effective strategy. For quick but temporary result ppc is better if you know how to drive it otherwise you can lose money for nothing.

seo is the process to improve the visiblity of your website and it takes approximately 1-3 months to visible of your website
and ppc refers to pay per click in which one needs to pay to search engine. it takes less than 2 months to get visible of your website.

I don't think SEO and PPC are different things !! PPC or Pay Per Click is almost linked to SEO.

That makes absolutely no sense. Optimizing, creating content and link building to improve search rankings vs. paying for advertising on some web property.

Bigger web advertising agencies usually sell both, but that doesn't make them "linked".

If you need quick results but limited time(till the you have money to spent on PPC) use Adwords. If you can wait for a couple of months for results and and want legitime results use SEO.

Here are my thoughts: You need PPC first, then SEO.

I would do PPC first to determine what keywords actually convert. The name of the game is conversions. Many people get this wrong by diving into SEO and ranking for terms that don't make them money.

      Hi masterqif,

      mix_daylee nailed it!

If you are looking for the best place to start, PPC has the ability to generate a lot of actionable data very quickly, and with relative ease. Don't make the mistake of going into expensive SEO campaigns based on untested assumptions.

Having said that, please consider that learning the finer points of managing PPC campaigns will be a steep learning curve for the novice, plan accordingly.

No, he didn't. This is what he said: "Pay Per Click is also part of Search Engine Optimization but it is a program that involves money." Again, that doesn't make any sense.

"Pay per click (PPC) (also called cost per click) is an internet advertising model used to direct traffic to websites, in which advertisers pay the publisher (typically a website owner) when the ad is clicked." That is directly from the good old Wikipedia. I guess you can now start an edit war to get Wikipedia changed to fit your thoughts.

Why on earth do you want to force these two different and distinctive types of advertising/marketing together? If you allow that kind of vagueness and mental laziness all discussion becomes eventually impossible. There's enough of that crap on this forum already.

SEO - "Search Engine Optimization" or you can say "Surely Earn Automated " sounds good.

PPC- "Pay Per Click" or you can say "please pay in control" this is really good advice.

I have only ever used SEO to be honest. The good thing about SEO is that is consistent, once ranked, doesn't cost you a penny.

Yes, it's a risk, depending on your SEO strategies and methods.

      Just play it safe.

I want to learn PPC my self.

Both SEO and PPC involve learning a lot of stuff. They could be both very profitable if you have a good knowledge and practice techniques.

PPC is usually faster, that's why many people prefer it as a method to drive traffic to their websites.

Start by looking at the cost for your PPC keywords. Depending on your market, the cost can be prohibitive.

With SEO, it's about the quality of content of your writings. Blog and submit articles that have quality content. Obviously, you don't want to stuff the articles with keywords or your SEO strategy won't work. Find a short keyword phrase and add a variety of additional words to it to create long tail phrases with a focus on the short keyword phrase.

    Good luck.

It all depends on the amount you can spend. If you have small budget, you should go for SEO which shall give you organic traffic. If you have big budget, exhaust it with paid PPC. But, for a longer run, SEO is beneficial than costly PPC.

What? PPC is always "pay per click" = spending money. No, you won't come far with a few dollars if your method is PPC. I guess it depends on what you mean by a few dollars when speaking of PPC. But, you definitely don't need as many dollars when it comes to SEO. And again, that depends on what keyword or site you're targeting.

SEO and PPC both are good for getting traffic to any website. As the name suggests in pay per click you can also get predicted amount of money when someone clicks on your advertisement. PPC is paid technique for getting traffic. Actually, it depends upon your need and size of your business if you have no money, then you have to stick with SEO. Also know how high your company's CPC is.
