Do indirect/redirect links pass juice?

So I've recently come across an expired domain that has a dofollow PR6 link from a .gov site but the link looks like this:

http://www.site.gov/redirect?url=htt...ireddomain.com

When you click on that link it doesn't automatically redirect you to the expired domain either. You still have to click out. The redirect page IS indexed in Google but obviously as a dynamic page.

Does this link hold any value or is it effectively worth zero?

    They pass some juice, but it is not as good as a direct link.

      It's not a link, passes no juice. The page would have to be PR6 anyway,
      and I doubt it if it is.

      Useless link unless it has good anchor text, is in context of the page, and
      many people visiting there to click it. No people clicking = zero value.

        Not sure what you mean with click out.

        If that thing redirects to a page that has a link to your expired site then it's still worth something yes. You just lose some juice along the way.

        Unless it's such fake dynamic type of redirect that you can create yourself on tons of sites.

    LOl, wth is going on in here?

    OP, everything to the right of that question mark in the URL is a parameter. It's basically a dynamic URL used for tracking clicks.

    This video might help add more confusion.

      This is an expired domain we are talking about so what has "good" anchor text and being in context got to do with anything if I'm going to repurpose it.

      And yes the page is a PR6, the domain is a PR8

      That above link is a dynamic page - it does not automatically redirect but rather says something along the lines of:

      You are now leaving site.gov - if you wish to proceed then click on the link below. It then shows the link to the expired domain and this link does not have the nofollow attribute.

      Yeah I am somewhat familiar with dynamic URLs and the redirect page in question (without the ? and everything after it) IS indexed in Google but what does this mean if the parameter is not present in the indexed version?

    I should also add that ALL of the big 3 backlink tools (Majestic, Moz and Ahrefs) show this as a valid link. I am aware that this means sweet FA in the grand scheme of things but interesting nonetheless.
