I was dabbling with the idea of creating a network of web 2.0's. What are some of the best practices that I should know about? What are your experiences with web 2.0's? Any advice would be appreciated.

Web 2.0s if done right may be a great source of backlinks, otherwise it will bring no value to your or your clients sites, or even make damage.

You can make them niche related which is something I recommend, or you can make them broad, and publish articles on various topics in order to provide links to different niches.

I am doing it both ways, in layer 1 I make niche related blogs linking directly to the site, and in layer 2 I have aged web 2.0s which I link to the layer 1 giving them some value...

What you will need to do it right is good content, and since you are content commando, that shouldn't be problem for you.

    Good luck.

      1. Make sure to use proxies so your IP isn't banned for making too many accounts from one place
      2. 4 Fluff articles, 250-400 words, with at least one image in each, maybe a video, and links to authority sites in two of those articles
      3. One about 150 word About me page
      4. Short Welcome post ~100 word
      5. 50 word bio
      6. One 500 word article on the home page, include two links to your money site, one link to an authority site, 2 images, and a video
      7. Build backlinks to these sites, or else they aren't that strong

I make a custom header for all of my sites
I use an email address that looks legit "SamJackson1970@hotmail.com"

I have a question about #1. If I am posting from different 2.0's (wordpress, blogger, etc) would i still need different IP's or does this only matter if the 2.0's are all from the same place?

I think he meant it for different sets of web 2.0 sites.

Same place. Doesn't happen on all the sites but no reason to risk losing an hour worth of blog creation

Best practice would be to NOT create a network of web 2.0s

Just use UNIQUE and well-written content. Do NOT use spun articles. If you could then add backlinks to those web2.0 sites (ONLY the web2.0 sites point to your main website/blog!)

Weak pages doesn't rank weak pages regardless what you call them (2.0, 3.0, 4.0), unless your aiming for Yahoo/Bing, in that case more pages/links does work (they're not too picky).

so you would suggest shooting for high PR links instead?

I got good results from web2.0, try to minimize the use of keywords while posting links. Always post naked urls.
