How an Amazon Review Site Should Be Done

Well I am looking to buy a laptop, an asus vivobook x200ca and naturally I searched Google for it using this search term "asus vivobook x200ca review" and I found this site listed on number 5 hxxp://laptopreviewers.com/asus-vivobook-x200ca-db1t-11-6-touchscreen-laptop-feels-right

If you are going to do an Amazon review site without you buying the product and testing and doing your own product review, I think this is a good site to emulate. For myself I think it satisfies the necessary information that I need.

And they do their Amazon links subtly. They don't push it in your face to click on the links.

With their claim like "At Laptop Reviewers, we read through hundreds of laptop reviews written by experts (like PCMag and Gizmodo) and by customers (at sites like Amazon.com and laptop manufacturers’ own websites)." I think this site adds value to the net and I think Google does too. What do you guys think? Is this just another thin affiliate site?

What??? You crazy. Everyone knows it's better to create 20 sites a month, using a $1/500 words Indian writer. Come on, man, quantity over quality is the only way to succeed in this business.

No!! Doing an Amazon review site is like doing a book report, if you can summarize it well, people will come to you!!:p

That site is a good example of what not to do . Bad English, poor review, and on a laptop that even a mother would hate even at that low of price. That Celeron chipset is the real deal killer, it's got no processing power.

If you want a low end laptop that does have some good features try the ASUS Transformer Book T100, Office Depot has the 32 Gig model for $339 and 64 Gig for another $60.

But keep in mind that any laptop under $400-$500 is going to have some missing features and none will run high end software or games well.

And here's a good review of it here: hxxp://www.engadget.com/2013/12/01/asus-transformer-book-t100-review .

At least someone might click on the link if the review is good and on a laptop someone would want to buy.

Had 4 clients who bought this unit over Xmas and are very happy with their purchase. Although with Asus you do have some low quality problems but none of the ones I installed had any issues with hardware or software.

Lol what's this: "Battery life ain't too hot though;"

We all know my Amazon review sites aren't of great quality but I would be the last one to brag about that opposed to what you do in the OP.

By showing some flaws in the laptop he is making the readers believe that this is an unbiased honest report, and they are more likely to trust him and make a decision based on his words.

The "OMG THIS IS TEH BEST LAPTOP EVER TRUST ME" approach does not work as well as most people think it does.

Personally I read the reviews AT Amazon. There are more of them to peruse.

I also don't get why people would visit a site that reviews Amazon products.

Nor do I. Amazon has a wide range of reviews. I'm sure most people love to read the negative reviews as well as the positive ones.

An overly flowery review seems suspicious.

Does it really matter why people ought to go to amazon instead of your site? Im tired of people making this stupid argument. The point is, they landed on your site and all they have to do is click on the link, amazon does the actual selling. It works. I would argue the same thing with adsense...why the crap would you click on an ad instead of using google. Yet, people do and its profitable.

Now having said that, there is a TON of value that you can provide to people on your site. Think about some of the questions amazon users might have. Sure they can read reviews...however they have no direct comparisons. Plus, its very easy to be confused about amazon reviews, and what to look for. Providing comparison tables along with differences in features and important information in the form of a quick summary can give people value. The problem is the execution

Prices listed without the API, on some pages there's even multiple prices listed for the same product. Either a bad copy/paste job. This how a "review" site should be done if you want to get cut off from Associates.

It matters If you care about repeat traffic. Repeat buyers are easier to convert than 100% new traffic that lands on your site only once. How the page is monetized doesn't really matter, it's more like are you making the best use of your existing traffic (will they ever return to your site ($$)).

How an Amazon Review Site Should Be Done is debatable and the jury is out if this is the OPs site or not!

But... it is ranking on page one for a number of these products which surprised me as I thought Google would have shot it down in flames with the number of affiliate links on it.

I certainly wouldn't recommend emulating this site if you are new to setting up Amazon Sites but I have seen a lot, lot worse and I'm guessing he is making a few dollars for now.

OP, I completely agree with you. I think this website is excellent and well done for what it is - a laptop review blog but if you're looking to optimize conversions then this guy has to throw in some extra things. I think this is what everyone else is trying to say anyways

I still believe that a review site of Amazon products is still useful. You can create a really good content about its products and perhaps do a summary of the best products in a particular niche.

Of course, consumer reviews are still great and you can also put several reviews of these on your site.

I agree with Yukon, you can use your site content to build your list.
