Copyright Issue With Adwords Ads?

Hello,

Is it okay to include the domain name of my competition in the adwords ad title, without www, or .com, as a way to pull traffic from my competition. Or is this a copyright issue?

I think it is but hoping it's not.

Thanks,

Glenn

I don't believe a domain name falls under a copyright issue. It may be a trademark issue. You can use it in your ad unless that competitor specifically told Google they don't want advertisers to use their name and brands in your ads. You'll know this right away as soon as you submit your ad.

As for the effectiveness of doing this, you can try it but I don't think it will work. I don't believe your competitor's domain in your ad says "click here". I'll bet your CTR will be lower than other compelling ads you could come up with. Let us know if you try it and the results.
