Haven't tried it myself but definitely seems worth trying it.

Sure you can look up their info in the newspapers and such but there is an easier way:

ProfNet Connect

It allows you to present yourself either as a journalist/publisher/blogger OR as an expert so you can use it in both ways.

Get an expert opinion when you write a blog post and once done contact journalists in the hope they'll publish it (or take it a step further and offer them money / try to close deals / get them to write something about your site that they publish in case your own content isn't good enough).

I don't know the average salary of a journalist but I can imagine it isn't that huge, so offering $100,- to get a link at an authority site in your niche or some decent sized news paper doesn't sound like a bad deal to me.

Yes I want to present myself either as a journalist/publisher/blogger and an expert but not in $100. It Sounds like Whitehouse In Next Election for Sure.

Nik newspapers have editors and you are not getting them to post a link to your site for a hundred dollars. Plus the minute you offer them a hundred dollars thats the end of passing yourself off as an expert in any field

For some reason Geraldo Rivera refuses to return my calls.

Lmao, at the $100 kickback comment for a person already on payroll.

Seriously, I'll tell you this from real life experience.

Small town reporters will print just about anything as long as it's not something lame. My father inlaw is on the board for a non-profit, he's had multiple articles published in the local newspaper which in turn gets posted online with a followed backlink. The nonprofit is 3 counties away from our town, small town with a single newspaper. He did all communication via email.

My point is, If your legit, I'm sure you could get a link from just about any small town newspaper. Our newspaper has about 4 pages (lol) so they're kind of hard up for local news, in this case local was 3 counties away. Even with the local newspaper being small, they still have a PR5 home page, so there's some link juice going on there while still being a small site.
