url sitemap not in root site

I write some code to make sitemap image from my own. with url is
examples.com/sitemap/image/index.xml
examples.com/sitemap/image/image1.xml
examples.com/sitemap/image/image2.xml
examples.com/sitemap/image/image3.xml
examples.com/sitemap/image/image4.xml
examples.com/sitemap/image/image5.xml

with index.xml will contain all url image1 - 5.xml .

i want to ask, how about if my url sitemap not in root site, like : exampels.com/index.xml, exampels.com/image1.xml, v.v. Is bot google can understand my sitemap location ?

    As long as the URL works it will be fine. I wouldn't nest the URL any deeper than necessary.

    I guess you can submit any well-formed XML link to GWT as your sitemap. At least one level of sitemap links within sitemaps seems to be ok.

    Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
    Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.
