Google Wants you Gone: Why Big G Is Locked, Loaded and Aiming Right at You.

A bitter cold wind sweeps across an empty plain. Silence rules. You lower your head, feel the cold find it's way into your bones, turn your back and walk away.

This is your business we're talking about. And that's just the way Google wants it.

Google will slap, sandbox, scrub and wipe-out any online business they want. If you've been around Internet Marketing for any time at all, you've heard about Panda, or Penguin, or Hummingbird. Rest assured there's more on the way....

Imagine turning on your computer to find your $400 a day income gone. Totally erased with no hope of ever coming back. It's happened to me and I can tell you it's a shock. It stops you dead and makes you realize that Google is waging war on Internet Marketers.

Imagine for a minute you are running Google. You control the entire Google empire. It's your job to provide the "Google customer experience". And if you can imagine that, even for just a minute, I'll bet you would be hiring Seal Team 10 to lay a world class beat-down on IM'ers.

Why? Google is and always has been, crystal clear about what they want. It's a simple request - Provide quality content that is unique to you and of value to your visitors. That's it. Nothing more. It's working pretty good for them, and if you decide to embrace that idea, it'll work pretty good for you, too.

And you know what? Providing quality, unique content that your visitors will love you for is really not that hard.

There is no good reason for fighting with Google over content. Forget for a moment that Google pretty much owns the Internet. Forget that they spend billions of dollars on R&D. Forget that they hire some of the smartest people on the planet. Forget all that and ask yourself this one question: What does this piece of content say about my site and my business?
If you're using crappy content, then you might be able to forgive Google if they think you're site is crap.
If the answer to that makes you a bit jumpy, how about asking this question: What value am I providing to my visitors?
If you're providing little or no value, then you might be able to forgive Google for slapping you around some.
I've done it all - black hat, white hat, thin affiliate, redirects, spoofing, spamming, direct-linking, and back-linking, The list goes on and on.No matter what I did, eventually Google caught up and until I figured it out, Google's response was always the same. I got hammered.

But once I figured it out, when I finally got it right, life became so much easier. Business became so much better and Google, bless their hearts, looked for easier pickings.

Here's what you can do to make sure Google goes after the other guy:
  • For every web property you develop, use unique, quality content that provides value;
  • Use good on-page SEO strategies. They're easy to find and if you're using Wordpress (you should be using Wordpress!), there are great tools you can use to help with on page SEO; and
  • Lastly, and most importantly, make sure Google knows what your content is all about.
Getting Google to understand what your content is actually about will make a massive difference in your rankings. This is so vitally important to you, and to Google, that they've literally been screaming at you on how to do it.

Here's how to pile on the Google love:
  • Optimize your content for a single keyword or keyword phrase;
  • Use LSI keywords in your copy;
  • Use media, like video, audio or images, to help get your message across; and
  • Use social networks to share.
Not rocket science, right, but it seems a little strange thinking that you have to hold Google's hand, right?. Let me give you an example:
Suppose you have a golf site. To promote that site, you're going to write some content about Tiger. Now when I say 'Tiger', you say 'Woods'. I don't even have to say it, I just have to say Golf and I'll bet Tiger is lurking about in your mind already. But when I say 'Tiger', Google might say 'Bengal'. Or 'Siberian'. Or 'Endangered'. Or 'Shark'. Or 'Stripes'. You get the idea.
Google simply can't figure out what you're talking about unless you give it some hints. That's where LSI comes in. LSI implies words that are associated with each other. The more LSI keywords you use, the more hints and clues you give to Google. The more hints and clues, the more Google understands what your content is actually about. Like this:
Now I say 'Only Jack has more major championships than Tiger'. Now Google knows exactly what you're talking about. Even better, this content is unique and has value. I'm helping to inform and educate my visitors. Go ahead, search for the exact phrase 'Only Jack has more major championships than Tiger' (don't forget the quotes). You'll find it's unique. I own it. It's mine. If I put it on a piece of content, Google will know I wrote it and that I own it and they'll reward me for it. Pretty Cool, huh!
Using LSI keywords effectively, especially if you're going to spin content (and you know who you are) is for another day.

Thanks for reading. Sorry 'bout the rant!
