So reading, I see alot of the SEO is about backlinks and quality articles on the sight, but what if it's just a webstore? generally they do not have backlinks.

Create feeder sites that aren't selling anything & target the same niche. Example, If I'm selling fishing lures, create a feeder site on fishing tips. Create another feeder site for best fishing locations (50 states). Create another feeder site focused on best fishing boats. Now advertise your fishing lure money site on all your feeder sites. Expand as needed...

That gets you targeted traffic building links to your free feeder sites, use the feeder sites for helping to rank the money site/pages.

You have to make sure the free feeder sites are the same demographics as your money site, otherwise traffic won't be interested in whatever your selling on the money site. In the example above, most people interested in fishing lures are interested in the following list:
    • fishing tips
    • fishing locations
    • fishing boats

So this is interesting, of the various carts that I have used, about 3 or 4 of them, the one I'm trying right now... yovigo.com has a built in blog, thinking that might help with quality content and backlinking.

I would not choose ecommerce platform just because it can do a blog. You can usually just install WordPress for all your blogging needs.

I like Yukon's approach a lot. That way you're not depending on other people to link to you.
      Signature
Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?
