Will Google punish over certain content

A while back I got a message from Google through my AdSense telling me that one of my websites was contravening their policies and unless I removed the offending pages they would disable AdSense on that site.The pages in question by nothing more than a bunch of jokes, then some of them quite rude, but nothing that would seriously offend every day folk.Because I had a bunch of traffic coming in through these pages I declined and told them that I wasn't going to remove the pages. Anyway, they followed through and I cannot put AdSense on that website any more, thankfully the rest of my sites were unaffected. Anyway, to get to the point of this question, would this episode have damaged my seo in any way? It seems that nowadays I get tons of traffic from my jokes pages, but very little comes from my main articles, may be a few links, but nothing like it used to be. I got pretty good page ranking, it's 4 on the homepage. So this makes me think that the website hasn't been punished because I'm sure this would have dropped.
