How to Check Your Search Position in Google - Where Does Your Page Rank for X Search Term

I have been using a couple of programs to check my rankings on Google. Until I read this, I didn't realise that I was breaking the terms of service by doing so.

Who cares? Google will never know what sites are checking their rankings. There are millions of rankings being checked all of the time. Google cannot easily determine which sites are having their rankings checked.

They have that in their TOS so that rank checking services can get sued by Google if they want to sue them. That's it.

Actually, it doesn't really make sense. Anyone can use a program like Rankerizer to check Google keyword ranking on any website you want.

Well now, one cannot really check one's position in google much anyway.
A generic search is basically nonexistent in 2014.

And that, is the way google wants it.
