What's The Best SEO Method To Use For Offline Clients

I'm looking to extend my business to helping local businesses that are not taking advantage of google and are ranked anywhere from page 2-20.I want to offer SEO services to these companies but i'm looking for a method that is consistant and works that will get these clients to the first page of google and stay there.

I know about backlinking , but what about some of the seo products being sold in the wso part of the forum.Is anyone having success with these methods? Will these methods stand the test of time to the piont that I feel confident that my offline clients will be satisfied?I need a method that I could stake my reputation on and build my business around.Your input will be greatly appreciated.Thanks

    Hi David,

    Let me itterate one thing before I continue...nothing...NOTHING...will do everything for you! When you see something that says '100% autopilot' they are lying. You will always need to put effort and work into achieving the rankings you desire.

    Granted there are tools which will help make your job easier, i.e. RSS Submitter, Articles Submitter, Social Bookmarking Submitter, etc. etc.

    Ultimately success with search engine rankings comes down to 3 things:

    quality, unique content
    quality, relevant backlinks
    keyword research

    If you can regularly produce quality content on the site, google will love you.
    If you can get relevant backlinks from sites in the same niche, you will hold your positions in the SERPs for longer.
    If you choose appropriate keywords for your domain and page titles, more targetted traffic will arrive at your site.

    It will be different though if you are given an already developed domain to seo and develop. A domain and keywords are already chosen for you, backlinks and onpage seo are all about your can do with that. There are far more detailed pages out there about onpage seo so I won't go into that here, Google is your best friend.

    A blog commenter finder tool will help you find blogs in the same niche as clients and you can build backlinks that way. Use a tool like PaRameter to check the PR of the links to find high pr blog posts.

    In most cases, if they already have a site, hanging a blog on it and starting to post good relevant content daily for their niche will move them up quickly. Make sure to cross link the blog posts to the clients relevant offerings - deep pages in their site. In most cases though, making sure that they are listed in google local is gonna get them the most leads.

      Hi Kevin,

      With regards to Local Google Business Map results (which are generally at the top of the 1st page) Is there any method of jumping up the list??

      Their are normally 10 showing (a - j) and the rest may as well be on page 20!

      As mentioned is there any clever way of pushing a company up the list or is it a first come first served basis??

      Any comments much appreciated

    I would absolutely add PPC if they can afford it. Especially if they are in a niche that doesnt have lots of leads.

    Paul, I'd recommend filling out the Google Maps local listing AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. I mean do the works, tons of pictures,videos,coupons etc. Also SEO the heck out of the entire listing for your desired keywords, description and all. You can essentially treat your biz listing like you would a normal page. Increase your citations throughout the various local biz directories as well and you should start to see an increase.

    I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're after or not, so sorry if I'm off topic

    For my offline business I include all the postcodes (zip) and names of the towns within a specific radius of where I work. for me I draw clients from suburbs 90 minutes away so I focus on those in that radius.

    So I have the keywords listed individually (eg psychologist, counselor & others ) then I do the keyword plus the postcode (psychologist 2000) and then I do the keyword plus the name of the town/ suburb (psychologist Paddington). I use these on the page in ways that look natural, so it looks fine for a business to have it's suburb, and professiona at the top and bottom of a page.

    I'm in the first three results for all my keywords and it sends me a lot of business. This would only work for an offline local based business, but it's really overlooked as a way of driving targeted traffic.

    Lots of people want to read information about psychology but they are not my targeted client, the client who is actually looking for a specific service in a specific suburb is my targeted client! I'm sure that's why a lot of local sites just don't rank.

    Once you have your basic SEO stuff down, that applies to pretty much all sites, it then comes down to that individual niche.. how other sites behave and what Google expects to see from new sites entering that niche.

    This can be broken down into many, many factors such as..

    Age of site
    Backlink frequency (inc anchor text)
    Update frequency vs staleness (one might be right for that niche, the other might not be)
    Site structure
    Keyword variants & stemming
    Prior rankings
    Domain info
    Various growth patterns

    and a bunch of other stuff it would take me a while to list, but you get the idea.. there can't be a "one size fits all" approach to SEO.

    I certainly understand where you're coming from and know why you say that, but let me assure you there really are some people who do deliver on what they promise when making these claims. Few and far between they may be, but they do exist.
