I have 2 sites in the same niche, let's call them A and B.

Site A get's tons of organic traffic but does not make a lot of money, site B makes a lot of money but does not rank well on Google as I mostly drive social media traffic to it.

Now, I am redirecting the whole site A to site B but I want to keep the rank on site A, what is the best way to do this?

TL;DR: I want to send traffic from one site to another without losing rank.

You want BOTH sites to rank?

That won't happen if you plan on doing a redirect. There could be a way to cloak it so that Google thinks that the site still exists without a redirect and then redirect only the Google traffic. However that's against Google's TOS and its only a matter of time until you get caught.

Why can't you keep both sites and change the site that isn't converting so that it converts?

The sites are in the same market but for different keywords for example MySpace background and MySpace fonts, both related to the same website just for different things.

1 site does not rank as I am only focusing on social media traffic where as the other site ranks very well and I want to keep that rank but redirect the traffic.

You could install a js redirect into the footer of site A. This would give the page enough time to be parsed and redirected.

Its very blackhat and really not advised. When its spotted both sites risk being whacked, but you asked so thy shall deliver.

        Code:

Don't screw up the 1st sites current ranking.

Use links on your existing ranked site/pages to rank your money site/pages for same/similar keywords. Advertise your money site on the site that has a lot of traffic.
