All in the title really, not used this service since 2011 ( I think).
Have they been busted yet or are they ok for links to Web 2.0s etc?

Don't know if they changed up but as I recall they got royally slapped by Google not long after BMR.

      Hello Mike,

Thanks for that, much appreciated. Can anybody suggest a good alternative?
I'm looking for some automatic linking for a Tier 1 link that aren't -complete- junk.

Hey, I'm the owner of HPS and can weigh in here.

BMR was the first busted and (I believe) we were the last of the public networks hit about 2 months later. We've since rebuilt twice.

That said, I personally wouldn't rely on any network I don't control to be my tier 1 links. Well, tier 1 is ok, just not ALL of your t1. And since High PR Society doesn't give link reports, you can't build backlinks to those links, so they're unable to be boosted any more.

Best practice usually involves building your own networks for T1, whether that be through a freebie site hosted at Wordpress/etc, or through domains you buy. Mike up there has his own build-a-network link in his sig if you need help. Or just go with something like cloakhosting and just drop random wordpress installs on them.

I have to admit I am impressed by that thinking there especially from your perspective because that way your network need not provide anchor text links which make the network look spammy. The guys I train are surprised when I encourage them not to send PR6 links straight to their money site.

Guess you started thinking outside of the box after rebuilding twice. That investment must have been a beast.

They've been busted time and time again and actively advertise on BH forums constantly. They take shortcuts and have been shown that time and time again with each deindexing.

Are you willing to take that risk for your clients?

You have to stop looking at them as a long term ranking solution. They are not set up to be that way. The owners know it, and the savvy customers know it. Only the reckless and misinformed buy into a PBN, with long term in mind.

They are set up cheaply to simply drive customer entry prices down to an affordable level. It's not really about them being lazy, but more economical with investing. The domains themselves are the priority and a lot of the cash is usually spent on that end.

People can't really point the finger at the guys selling the $69 monthly PBN subscription, You get what you pay for as they say.

There are people around though, who see it for what it is. And make a damn good living out of churning and burning both networks and sites. They will knock up a quick domain with high volume search, and overkill it with paid network links. Knowing full well the clock is ticking until getting slapped. Google have made a few changes recently to try prevent this, but I'm still seeing a lot of it around.

But those are the guys making money.

People should know well enough by now. If your going the route of "Public" Blog Network links, Be well prepared for a churn and burn scenario.
