Hi everyone, I've written about this before but it was more on the side of complaining. I hope someone will find this post useful. I asked fellow warriors for advice early this year and didn't follow it! My question was:

Should I build numerous niche oriented websites or just one big website with various reviews in many niches.

The people that replied said that it was probably a better idea for me to create more than one website. Me being a lazy ass went ahead and did just one website with each page dedicated to various product (mainly clickbank).

My journey to link building began and up to last week I was moving up the SERPS and starting to see consistent sales in numerous products that I was promoting. Then.... wait for it .... POOF, GONE, GONZO, NATA... website gone. Not penalized exactly (I still have PR) but just no where to be found anywhere where a normal human would search.

Now, I'm not giving up hope just yet. I will wait a month or two and keep building links and see what happens but it did teach me a valuable lesson.

Don't put your eggs in one basket!

Yours can be considered a pure example of Google-Sandboxing!

Did you build alot of links in a short span of time?

Seems like you triggered the sandbox.

I hear that the only way to get out of it is to keep doing what you've been doing by creating on-site content + link building + offsite content (article distribution).

It's a terrible thing to work through. It seems that the search engines drop a site in the sandbox to test it's mettle. If you give up and links/content stops being generated, then they feel that they were justified in dropping you.

If however, you have faith in your abilities and keep working your site will eventually "pop" back to where it belongs.

Not easy to do thought because you have to work hard (sometimes for weeks) without seeing any improvement and not give up.

A site I put up in February went into the sandbox (spots 40-50) for 6 weeks starting at the end of april. Last week it "popped" to spot 16 and then 5 days later to spot 7.

You can break out of it if you have determination and faith.
