BackLinks not showing from Website A to Website B

I have two websites.

Website A links to Website B via an invisible footer link at bottom of site.

However, when I go to backlinkchecker.com the link from Website A is nowhere to be seen?

So its invisible footer link, this kind of technique considered as spamming.

I don't get people's fascination with what shows up in their "backlink checker"

Did it increase your search engine rankings? That's the only thing that matters.

To answer your question, it could be just the backlink checker hasn't picked it up yet. Furthermore many of these tools only pick up 50-60% of whats out there.

  If that...I see links from high PR pages on high authority government sites that do not show up in some of the backlink checkers! That's why their metrics are a proxy at best for the real value of a link.

Thats because the BL checkers don't have the resources to crawl the entire web instantly. Heck, Google doesn't even have that capability.

For all you know Website A could have the BL checkers bots blocked from accessing the site.
