Why I hate Yahoo Search Marketing?

Yahoo Search Marketing just keep pi$$ing me off!

I even wished I never even heard of them.

First they keep restricting me how I want to run my ads. The keywords per ad can only be used once, if I am trying to promoting 2 different ad group relating to the same product i can't DO THAT!

Second, their freaking prepaid is the most annoying thing about it! We have to pay first in order to use the account! are they kidding me? Not only they restrict me in how i run my campaign, i have to pay first for their crappy service. I haven't using it for a while because they declined my ad with their self-righteous ways in how the ads should be appropriate, unlike GoogleAdwords.

I wasn't planning on using it again. But then the next thing i knew, my credit card was charge $30 to replensih my account! That is really insane! They do that because they are afraid the customers will leave them for their inferiror and lame service. So basically i got stay on using it until the $30 is used up, but i can't becvause my ads are never show up and are decline telling me i should fix this. But then how are we supposed to optimized and test our ad if that keep controlling without us allowing space to test?

Third, their CPC is way much higher! what are they deillusioning think they are the best so they can charge more for a crappier service! that is the most lame thing i ever encounter.

Stay away from YSm, but if you do get involved, know that you won't get the chance to increase your business as GoogleAdwords.

Hey Jason, interesting rant . I actually agree with alot of what you said. One thing I've noticed is (and if you can explain this please do) I create an ad and set the bid on the keywords to lets say $0.4 but I notice that my ad is not getting any clicks and is ranked at position 17 or 15 etc and yet the keywords are not being charged the full $0.4 instead i'm being charged $0.1 or as low as 0.06.

Now this is really annoying because I chose to set my bid to 0.4 because I want to get clicks and I'm willing to pay that much for it. So why are they charging me a fraction of my bid and not delivering the clicks?

I haven't even spoken to them about it even though i've noticed it more than once. But I

    intend to.

Huh? That's bizarre. They are definitely controlling how you how you run your ads, without any freedom.

I'm not sure I ever had that happened, but I'm pretty sure it might because the last time I logged in before the unexpected $30 charge, none of my ads were running, but I had $28 in the account, and just recently I have the $30 charge, and then logged into the account, and all of my ads were still inactive.

Kind of scamming money under the rug...

I agreed with you also, the fact is taking money from your account without using the agreed daily amount is frustrating

      There are 2 options

      1. Prepaid
      2. Manually ask them to put X amount on the account

Ive never had them bill my card without me asking to

BTW, has anybody had any experience with MSN?

I've never used their service, but claiming what most people say that GoogleAdwords is better than YSM and that YSM is better than MSN, I'm not sure if I even want to experience the headache using MSN.

MSN is fine easy to use but is terrible for traffic. You can literally go an entire month and have barely spent $4. No one really uses it

Google is the place for traffic but I personally think their estimates suck balls.. its way over expensive, they are criminals

Yahoo is ok but they are majorly anal about what ones they let through and traffic isnt great

PPC in general sucks ass, It used to be great back in 2004, 2005 when you could pay to be above someone

Now all this relevancy crap is just pure gay

It really depends on your niche. For one of my niche, I actually preform better on Yahoo and MSN than google. Do a little bit of research, because there's no perfect formula. It's all about trial and error.
