Site dropped for particular search term??

Hi Warriors,

I need some SEO advice.

I do SEO for a clinet of mind and was succesfull over the last 2 years to have his sites on the first page of google for particular search terms. The same site is on googles page 1 for a 3 different search terms.

Now the last month I created a lot new backlinks for one of those three search terms.
Now something really stange happened. The site got dropped from page 1 somewhere to page 356 only for that search term but only when doing a search for 'search the whole web' (which is the standard option). However if I select, search 'sites in german only' or sites 'only from Germany' the site appears withou problems.

What's going on here? Anyone can explain?

      I guess you know quite a bit about SEO, considering you do work for clients.

      For anyone to make any assumptions here we would need to know where you have been getting links from.

      Have you beed using same anchor text.

      Are the links you are putting out still live on the internet.

    thanks for the ansers, the site bounced back after 2-3 days - strange behaviour of Google but this seems to happen time after time
