I usually charge a percentage on top of each click, that way it is in my interest to get clicks to their website and the client can see a direct result of the work I'm doing. This only works if your client trusts that you won't try and rip them off though. Otherwise just charge a flat fee for a campaign

I had a guy hit me up that want's PPC while the Organic catches up, I usually just throw in the PPC fees in as part of an overall package. But out of curiosity, how do you come up with a flat fee? By Keyword tracked? Ads written? Split tests? Estimated hours per week X hourly rate?

Kind of agree with DPM70 there.. I probably wouldn't load clicks and then try and push as much traffic as possible.

What most agencies due to charge a setup and then a % of spend (with a minimal fee to cover smaller campaigns - if you want).

% of spend will allow you to set a budget.. discuss the likely fees with the client and then try to optimise their campaigns the way they should be optimised based on their KPIs.

And then report regularly so you keep the communication up and keep yourself on your toes to make sure you are doing a good enough job.

Look after them and they will return in kind.

    Good luck with it.

    thanks
What you can charge depends on what you are offering..

Are you creating an adwords campaign throwing in a bunch of keywords in a couple of adgroups and directing traffic to their homepage or are you creating a full-fledged campaign with many adgroups, split testing landing pages and ads and tracking the heck out of it from the moment someone thought about typing something in Google until they call the company?

It just depends the amount of work you have to do.
I create full-fledged campaigns and track everything. Also I create landing pages and split test them along with the ads and kw.
I charge an initial setup fee and a percentage of their monthly ad budget (with a minimum of course)

    Hope this helps.
