One Keyword Per Ad Group?

I was just curious if you felt that targeting one keyword per ad group was still a good strategy? I am a PPC novice, but a highly experienced Internet marketer. I have my own traffic course coming out, but don't teach PPC because I really haven't had much success with it. Thanks for your input.

A few around here swear you absolutely have to have only one word per group. I don't think you have to granularize to that extreme. Simply group keywords around themes. You could have a few keywords in that group.

    • As a general rule I use this:

Search Network = 1 Keyword per ad group *
Content Network = 10-50 keywords per ad group **

      * Sometimes I am going very granular and I do use 1 keyword,
per Keyword Matching Option (Broad, Phrase and Exact),
per ad group. But the earnings per click and conversions
must justify this work for me to go GO more granular.

** I use those many keywords so Google can better evaluate
the THEME from the ad groups and judge better where on the
Content Network it should display the ads.
