I have a blog in a very specific health niche, about 2 yrs old. For whatever reason it was deindexed by G. Naturally my adsense rev has gone way down. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with it.

There are lots of good posts and my first thought was to start a new blog and move them. Here's my dilemma -

The name of the original blog is known and I get traffic from it. Do I just abandon that traffic? Or can I leave the old blog up and point that traffic to the new one? I'm not good at this stuff, I'm pretty much just a blogger.

I was approached this weekend by a large (PR6) health network site wanting to add my blog to there network, feature posts from my blog, and point backlinks to it. I hate the thought of wasting those backlinks.I could buy a new domain name and move the blog to it before listing with them. Good idea?

Any advise? Please?

#blog or hi #deindexed #link #site

The usual advice for a blog that gets deindexed is to get some more backlinks to it.

It's important to know why it was deindexed before you decide what to do. Were you doing anything that might have caused it? Did your hosting account get hacked? Was your hosting down for an extended period?

In general, if it was something you did or if you were hacked you'll probably need to go to Google Webmaster tools and request reinclusion after correcting the problem. This might take a while. If it was caused by hosting problems, then new links, especially authority links, will help Google see your site again.

I'm not exactly sure why it was deindexed. I pretty much just blog, I don't do blackhat stuff or anything like that. The only things I did were paid posts and exchange links with other bloggers.

I was exchanging links with approximately 150 other bloggers. I took down all of the links. I now know that reciprical links are bad. I also deleted all of the paid posts, I don't do that any more. I went to G webmaster and requested reconsideration about a month ago and heard nothing. I guess it was denied. My hosting was not down.

The fact that it was not indexed after my request is why I am trying to figure out the best route to go with it. If the request was denied it's not gonna happen, right?

It may take a while. I bought a pre-owned domain at a closeout auction at TDNAM that had been link spamming using YACG in the past. It took about 8 months for Google to start indexing it again after the reconsideration request. I probably wouldn't have bothered except that the keywords in the domain name made it worthwhile.

Things that can help will be to remove any monetization and have good, solid, original, legit content that can withstand a strong visual inspection. Good authority links from relevant sites can help too, as long as they don't look like paid links, so continue to pursue the opportunity you mentioned as well.

Thanks for the info, bgmacaw. So it sounds like you're saying I should stick it out and not move the content to another domain name. The content is good, it is all original content written by me on the specific health topic. As I said, I removed the paid posting.

I guess I'll just have to be patient.
