I have 2 sites in the same niche, we experienced Negative SEO on both sites by competition We have had the links disavowed and are building quality links with unique content.

We have been doing this since January and still 1 website is at #47 and the other not in top 100! Previously they were both #1 and #2

In January/February we wrote 40 articles per month and put company name and "click here" as anchor, we also released 1 press release, we have done some facebook shares and then created the articles in pdf and uploaded them to document sharing sites, with a link back to the resource - the websites.

We have some high PR backlinks from business blogs NOT paid or sitewide...

Does anyone have any good suggestions on getting back to were we where?

    Hi Dexter,
Don't worry, here is what you should do to regain search engines trust, it's all explained here by Matt Cut himself - How can a site recover from a period of spamming links?:

But the problem is WE did NOT spam...we never got a webmaster notification either. We have disavowed the bad links.

The issue is, you are still doing things wrongly.

Just because you post 40 articles a month, backed up with press release, doc sharing e.t.c doesn't mean you are building good backlinks.

The FB shares is a bloody waste of your time... Stop believing in the misconception of the lay man.

If it's the site in your forum sig it needs on-page help, unless your trying to rank for the keyword home.

You even have a sitewide footer link to SEOPressor & some other spammy SEO keyword stuffed link to (charteredseo). Delete those two footer links.

Get your on-page SEO right then worry about external links.

      Yukon,

Thanks for that, no it is not the link in my sig.

Removed the SEO Pressor link - that was sneaky...

      Thanks.

If you built 40 links per month no matter what anchor you use, it's spammy. A site naturally doesn't get that many links. For highly competitive works, like "business cards" etc, all you need is about 100 natural links from quality sites.

you've done enough, you need to do on-page optimization and consider adding blog section to your website and adding one post daily on it, instead of submitting 40 articles on article directories.

Hope It'll help. Best of Luck..

Sorry, I did not make it clear, we have a blog attached to the domain and we post 40 articles per month - well that is the plan.

I just want to add an element besides the valuable things that has been already posted. After disavow your bad link lists you should submit a reconsideration request to google that will help you to get back inline.

If you were negative SEOd and then hit by the penguin update, you will be better off starting with a fresh domain if that's possible.

If it's not, you're pretty much at the mercy of trying to use the Disavow Tool which is a joke at best.

Well, that was nice. WF just randomly lost my comment.

If the site is indeed the one in the sig link, Majestic SEO gives it a Trust Flow score of 0 meaning that they see no valuable links pointing to the site. Majestic SEO is slow to update and often wrong so that number may or may not be realistic.

As Yukon said, the site in question has problems with on-page SEO. Two h1s on the front page. Also, only about two pages on the site seem to have any real content to rank the site on.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

40 articles per month for a single website is much more than required. In this time over promotion is also harmful. If you add more efforts than required then it is not sure that you will get results quickly.
