Wordpress bad for SEO?

We are working on SEO for a website, and are running into an issue, so we would like some advice from experts here..

See this web page;
http://www.bestshoestobuy.com/shoes-...ese-slingback/

We are planning to optimize for the keyword phrase "slingback sandals", though we have not done the optimization yet.

When we do a keyword density analysis, on this URL here;
goRank - Free Professional SEO Tools - Keyword Rank Tracker, Keyword Density Analyzer, Link Popularity Checker, and more

In the analysis, we find that the keyword phrase "steve madden" is very prominent! Also a piece of our affiliate code "8217 s" is very prominent!

This is because our Wordpress theme has the phrase "steve madden" on that web page several times, in the "Topics" section, "Prior Posts" section. And then of course we link to the Steve Madden website with some images and affilaite codes, because we want the viewer to click on those images.

We're worried that the template puts so many links on that the web page, that it will be optimized for the wrong keywords! OPtimized for "steve madden", or some of the others, instead of the intended keyword!

Is this really an issue? What to do about it?

Thanks for any advice.

      So you are saying this is an issue and we need to customize the html code?

      So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

    the page is gone, as far as SEO goes, concentrate on backlink. This is the only thing you want to do for Google. Stop worrying about keyword density etc... they are pointless.

      Apologies, the page moved, so I updated the link, here it is;

      Keyword density is pointless? That's a new one, I'll have to research that...

        Inasmuch as you don't go and get blacklisted for blatant abuse of keyword stuffing, yeah it's a pretty moot point either way. Just make sure the keyword is included somewhere and that the content talks about the keyword in a relevant and real way and you're good.

        When you have that covered, focus on the incoming links and their anchor text and you'll be good.

        This isn't really a new one... I've personally not seen anybody seriously recommend chasing keyword density numbers for a couple years now. (Not anybody that I would take very seriously at least...)

        The only issues with WordPress as regards to SEO is that it can supposedly create duplicate content issues from all the archives, category, and tag pages that it generates, and that it be hard to set the description meta tag for each page (although this is more to do with the search result click-through rate than with rankings)... and both can be easily dealt with using any of the SEO plugins.

    1. Zoobie is correct in saying that Keyword Density is useless. Just don't over use a keyword too much. Remember you are creating content for humans and search engines.

    2. Google loves Wordpress.

    3. I suggest you install some SEO-Plugins for wordpress which should help organise your SEO structure better.

    Good Luck
