Well, the backlinks were good while they lasted...

I've been using several backlink packages for quite some time, and it appears to have hit its saturation point.

Now, a lot of the websites are fully prepared to block new users, and/or have several rumblings on their site about spammers.

Can't really blame them.

Has anyone else encountered these issues? Do you think this too shall pass?

Do one of those backlink packages include Angela's or Paul's?

I guess good PR can be achieved with limited links if they are from good authority and high PR sites so you should try to get it from 10-20 good sites rather than 100-200 which will help you to avoid from blocking.

Any link below PR 3 or 4 is not taken seriously by Google any more.

The best investment is to get a relatively small number of PR 5+ links - 7+ are the best, from sites in a similar niche, matching keywords in anchor text etc.

Also deep link. Google really discounts links that point to the home page.

Always remember that Google looks for natural linking, and when a person links to a page of interest, it is rarely the home page - it is mostly an inner page of a site.

Google also looks at the page where links are coming from to see if they are not paid links, so you need to be aware of that.

A good way is to locate high PR sites - .org's are the best - that are none commercial - local church's or whatever - and offer to make a donation for a link.

It takes time, but you will get quality links, and one PR7 is worth a gazillion PR 3 or less.

        I'm biting my tongue.

How can you seriously say a PR3-4 link has no merit to google anymore? Perhaps you are correct - perhaps not. But Id like to know how you know for sure.

        Natural linking?

An algorithm seeks "natural" links? and what is natural to the algo?
All PR4+ links and no PR0's?

Seems somewhat counter intuitive, or dare I say ... "unnnatural" ... for a site to have all PR4 and little or no PR0-3's

A relatively SMALL number of of HIGH PR links wont really do SQUAT for you in a competitive niche.

I really dont want to be argumentative, but this is like the 100th post Ive read like this. Im not sure several of the posters main points being made are "irrefutable facts" as they appear to be portrayed. Would love to hear more info that might substantiate some of the info.

        All the best,

        Steve

        1 PR7 is worth a gazillion PR3 or less?
        How so?

Some one needs to alert the google algo thats ranking my sites and moving them up the serp's. I dont have a single backlink on a page over 4 that Im aware of - yet google is blessing me with SERP increases weekly. I must have the "nice algo" that doesnt seek so much natural High PR Action action.

I love it when people give out advice like this. I shouldn't say anything and hope my competition believes it and follows it.

That's the problem with sites, forums and blogs.. unless you're connected with someone who runs a vast network you'll always face those problems.

Heres a tip, get the backlink packages, save them, and then 3 - 4 months later when everybody is on the new package, get it out of your archives and start working

  • Any link is a good link...obviously getting them "naturally" is better than building all the efforts yourself but to say a PR 0 link is useless is ignorant at best. At a certain point you do reach some saturation and your efforts would be better of on content versus obtaining more links (if you submitted to every directory for example already).

Ok let's see it this way...

Warrior Forums has 282,000 back links and is #1 in the Google Ranking for keyword Internet Marketing Forums.

Second on the list is Digital Forums with 181,000 backlinks for Internet Marketing forums.

So can we say that all 282,000 backlinks are PR4 and above?

ALL backlinks are important! Yes you have more Authority when it comes to a the Weight of a backlink but the amount of backlinks are important factor as well.

Look at all websites that are ranked in your niche and see how the backlinks decrease as the page rank decreases.

Some people rely to much on Gurus trying to sell you something when they should research to find out what unbiased advice is best.

    To your success!

I have experienced something like that before using a backlinks packet. I bought a packet 2 months behind the latest packet. When i tried using them, some of the sites were blocking off new registrants, specifying the reason that some of the people registering to the site are there just to get backlinks. So if you use the old packets some of the links may no longer be available.
