Was just signing up to hostgator and came across an option to:

This can be added for an extra $14.99/ yr

Has anybody ever used this? Do you recommend it?

From what i have read is that they tell you that they will do it for you'' but then they tell you how you can learn to do it.

So are they actually going to do it for me or just show me how to do it or both?

    It is a few tools that analyse your pages and tells you what you must do to optimize your web pages, pretty much what many other tools do for free. It doesn't do it for you, it is a DIY service that charges you to use their tools.

      Correct. It's kind of like a front end offer at a low price to get you to use their other tools..

      If you snoop around on this forum for long enough, you'll find way more info on SEO than they'll give you with the gears option.. and the info here is primarily FREE

      SEO is a touchy subject to begin with just because Google has a mind of its own!

        You will find a lot of goodies like that in your hosting accounts and
        cpanel.

        But fight the urge. Many of those tools will have access to your site
        and settings, even robots.tx and .htaccess.

        They can do some strange things....

    From the price itself you know you're not getting anything valuable for your site. They'll just offer some tools that can help you index your site. but as for improving your site rankings you ain't getting anything for that price. you should hire professional SEO company that know what they're doing to do the real SEO For your site.

    From the time taken by that bot it can be clear they run
    some BH method.Where in plain and simple
    Webmasters tools take 1month more or less even
    others Big fish SEO gurus take time like this
    from that point of view how this tool can within a week.. (troll)

    Sorry to say this type of non-sense make the market place
    nuisance. Hope make sense..

    I'd imagine it's probably a tool that teaches you the basics. Wordpress SEO by Yoast is a plugin that can help with the basics. You can also get free info here at WF or at Moz. Good luck!
