My main concern is just being able to rank the damn thing and profiting from it. There are no really good resources for this niche and i want to be the first to exploit it.

Article directories are still working and good source to get backlinks. However, you should choose only good websites so that you could get more results. Blog comments and using social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to promote your website may be effective idea.

Should I build links using article directories? - YouTube
@KristinaRoy Article directories are spamming techniques. Anything SEO really teaches is a spamming technique. It is against web standards to spam the web, to get irrelevant links from places just to rank is called spamming the web.

Don't ever study SEO, it is a waste of time. Study branding and social marketing. The only SEO Tech. you should implement are article submissions to already established sites. Pay for them if you can. And the sites ha ve to be relevant dammit, if anyone here has ever studied web development they would have known this 8 years ago.

I'm planning to build 100 sites just like that.

Important things to watch out for is duplicate content, over monetizing and you need to make it diverse so that it doesn't look like dull content farm type of sites.

If you have a few months I can update how it went, first site is in progress right now.

How much are you going to be investing for each one?
