From EMD to brand url

Hi,

Before you say to search the forum I already did and I couldn't find what I was looking for.

So I bought an EMD for a site about a month ago and I have about 15 articles on it. I want to transfer all of the content to a new brandable domain name. What would be the easiest way to go about this without getting any penalties and maximizing the SEO?

Should I de-index the old site and then add the content to the new site once it gets de-indexed?

Thank you!

there's nothing you can do... deindexing your website won't suddenly erase google's memory of your content... you'd have to re-write each one... just hire a quality re-writer to do the job, and your good to go.

Just move the pages to the new site then delete everything on the old site, no big deal.

If the first site was well established (years) then I would suggest to leave the site alone & use it for relevant links.

Is there anything else I need to do besides that? Like any waiting period or letting google know? Thanks for the answer Yukon!

      No better suggestion than this.

    What about a 301 redirect?

No need to wait for anything. The 1st site is only a month old, I kinda doubt there's any authority going on.

No need for 301 redirects unless you have some good backlinks your trying to salvage & use on the 2nd (new) domain. Again, the 1st site is a month old so I doubt there's much of anything to even try to save besides the on-page content.

Google will self correct the SERPs when they try to crawl the old site/pages & the old pages are deleted (1st domain). The faster you get the old content moved to the new domain & the old pages on the 1st domain deleted you can aim to get Google to try & reindex the deleted page URLs which will in turn get Google to remove the old pages on the 1st domain from Google SERPs.

If you did a 301 redirect you would have to keep renewing the old domain (1st domain) for the life of the new domain in order to keep a 301 redirect intact. So you would basically be paying $10 a year for nothing since the 1st domain has nothing to offer as far as SEO. IMO that's a wasted $10, won't break the bank but it still serves no SEO purpose If there's no authority backlinks to salvage.
