Google's Upcoming Softer Panda Update. Cuter and Cuddlier for SMBs?

Did I read right? Google will be softening their approach with the next Panda update? This is to assist small businesses with a lessened overall impact for certain sites. Small comfort for those pages that have already been obliterated by the gobbling black and white beast Mister Cutts!

If my websites have top quality content, are structured well, have smart, well optimised linking and follow all the rules of Internet strategy, are they assured safety status to any future updates, of any kind? Not likely, I'd be thinking.

I'm a bit 'animal'd' out at this stage! Pandas, penguins, hummingbirds .... is there any way to predict what the next species 'assault' is likely to be? Don't mind me, I'm just having a good ol' digital sob session here ...

I don't quite understand what this update will do?

So if you have a small site/business with unique quality content, this next Panda update will boost your rank a bit in the search engines compared to the last?

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

I do have the feeling they are too strict these days with their Panda update, to many innocent sites get hurt by it cause Google easily flags them as thin or low quality just cause it are small sites with low relevance.
