If you were to send a SEO report to your clients, do you really need a...
  1. PDF report
  2. I don't really care (csv, html, txt, pdf) as long as it displays my clients data in a professional way.

What are your thoughts on SEO reports and what do you think your clients are think on report formats? 1 or 2

    Most of my reports are send in plain text format, I never had any complains.

    A PDF looks more professional of course but in the end it's all about the results that bound clients.

    I use MS Doc and MS excel for SEO report. However, I prefer clients choice first.

      I always use doc file while creating any report to the clients. And it also depends on clients what he is asking for. I always go with manually generating report. I try manually rather by any tool.

    I don't really care, but professional-looking PDF is always a good choice.

    What I care about: the report should not be too long, and should not include a ton of random statistics or numbers that are meaningless to the recipient. That part should be condensed so that one can see trends. I really like to see actionable suggestions and fix lists.

    Client always expect easy, understandable report. Any format is okay as far as it fulfills client expectations. MS Excel, we prefer most of the time showing all the data visually.

      PDF reports will make you look professional. You should also white label the reports with a cover page, your and client logos. A report is your most critical communication every month. They will define your client satisfaction level for the first week of the month when they are paying your invoices.

      In a lot of the cases where your clients are not aware of how SEO works its not just the data that matters. You need to convey that you care about their business. A little bit of flash in your reports matters and also makes it easy to understand the results.
