Google help forums are not much help at all, they defend scraper sites and blame you

So I was looking online on help why Scrapers ranking higher than original content, check this thread in Google help forums and most of the top contributors are like cult members big G can do no wrong in their eyes, it slike they are begging to get hired by them or something, they defend G all the time and if you ask a question the blame you.

This person asked why does a scraper rank higher than their original work, the TC responds very cold blooded and rude saying this.

200 factors in the ranking algorithm yada yada. Gonna have to do better than your competitors. That's just life. They are beating you right now. Welcome to business life.

So basically instead of sympathizing with the VICTIM they just sy that is life, basically promoting stealing of original content. Ethically its messed up, isn't the Big G supposed to fight against spam or scrapers not reward them? i thought that was the algorithm update for apparently not.

Google still has spam, but now they have scrapers ranking at the top 3 pages for keywords, it was better before when the article that was posted first got first dibs over the duplicated copied scraped article.

Forums are forums. Have you tried to contact the real Google? File a spam complaint perhaps?
    Signature
Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

This person basically sums it up one of the TC's seems to do nothing but get off on attacking webmasters just for fun, why don't they remove that person instead of lettin them abuse power to get off

If your content is being copyright infringed by another individual, just file a copyright complaint against:

    Them
    Their Hosting
    Their Registrar
    And Google

You can sue them, their host or registrar will normally suspend their accounts. And Google will remove the infringing pages from the SERPs.

Approximately 25% of the web is made up of pure duplicate content, and it is very difficult to tell algorithmically who the original author is. Post dates can be easily manipulated, and Googlebot can't be everywhere at once. Domain authority can also play a roll in this, as sites with more authority are more likely to be crawled quicker then sites without.

I love when some tries to rip my content:

It gives me great pleasure watching a domain crash and burn overnight.

      Thanks,

I read someone on the help forums who filed several copyright complaints but even though the scrapers got eliminated, his ranking never recovered. should I put some type of copyright badge on my site to warn scrapers? or should I just remove my RSS feed? I noticed when i use RSS feed delay and put the setting don't post this in RSS feed I dont get any traffic, does the RSS feed matter or not?

How does one gain Domain Authority and what is it? this still gets me confused. I am sorry if I sound like a newb but its because I am.

No scraper is going to care about a badge. Scrapers only care about money, find a way to hit them in the wallet, example is the scraper running Adsense?

I had a guy hotlinking about 50 of my download files, I created/hosted the files (all legit content). Once I found he was hotlinking I went back & advertised my website (internet shortcut link inside each zip file) while keeping the old URLs intact, the URLs that were being hotlinked. Thanks for the free traffic.

        Hotlinkers are the best.

I can't really speak for the rankings, I've never lost rankings due to anyone scraping. Scrapers are normally automated so they won't pay any attention to any badges. You could buy a subscription to DMCA and CopyScape to help you monitor for theft. But it's still up to you to take the action. DMCA will do it for you, but they charge and arm and a leg for a simple process.

Use the Whois database an IP lookup tools to find the info you need, like registrar and hosting abuse email addresses. Use this form to send to Google infringement notice

        Authority is like

CNN.com is an authority. Johnjoebrowndailynewsblog.com is not.

What would johnjoebrowndaily need to do to become an authority site which increases his serp.

Also the disavow tool, i think i am screwed because I used it a few months ago and than removed it after noticing that my rankings didn't comeback after I had it up. i deleted it thinking i might have disavowed some quality links and hurt my site since google gave a warning about using it before that it could hurt your site if you disavow the wrong links.

Now i read this Matt Cutts Gives SEO Tip For Disavow Links Tool | WebProNews

and Matt cutts says don't delete your old disavow links, just upload a new one because it will confuse google, does this mean if I upload a new one I will be screwed?

Also DMCA. if someone has a DMCA on their site, will that derank them for good and will they get an algo penalty? I noticed some sites are still ranking well and they have a couple DMCA's against them.

My issue is I lost ranking for popular keywords that I used to rank well for in my niche.

Johnny would need to start getting himself some good links from authority pages himself.

I can't tell you if what you disavowed was the right links because I'm not you and I know nothing about your domain. But if it was a "manual spam action" penalty you would have that message in your GWT. If it was an algorithmic penalty, you may have just disavowed the wrong links or maybe even the links where not the problem to begin with. You said you where noob to all this, so it's unlikely you wouldn't know what a good link looks like.

A successful copyright infringement claim to Google will remove the offending page from the search. It puts in into "Chilling Effects", until the alleged offending page owner removes the content or defends the accusation successfully.
