Hi there,

I recently just started my first affiliate site and I have a few things I am looking for. I saw a video about a way to see how a spider views your webpage, but I lost the video. Just wondering how to do this.

Also I am trying to find a good start for promoting my site. Should I use PPC? I am focusing now on getting my key word optimized for the SEO. But is it really worth it to use PPC right off or should I wait until I get a few more things going?

Currently I am working on getting a relationship with other sites to get some backlinks and maybe some other affiliates.

Basically any advice is welcomed. Unless you want me to buy something from you, than no it is not welcomed.

    A couple of things you can do, setup a twitter account using your site name or keyword related. then setup a facebook page to link into it. Lastly and most importantly setup a pinterest, google+ page and youtube channel.

    On the Google+ page add all of your social links and your site url into it. Once you have done that setup a wordpress.com site and put some fresh content on there ad link back to your site.

    With Google+ start sharing and commenting on related content but make sure you comment and engage dont push your site or anything. Just share tips etc. Create some youtube videos and publish them, make sure you link back to your site and use keywords in the tags.

    Share your videos etc on twitter and google+ page and on facebook. Build this over time dont try and rush backlinks or google will spot it and sandpit your site.

    Take your time and build links and share content and you will gain traffic as it grows. You can also use pinterest to pin your images and any other peoples shared content.

    This is very important regarding Google+ personal url dont take the url when it comes up on the Google+ page as it will only offer you the option of your site name and a character or number which you dont want.

    Wait for the e-mail to come from Google and it will e-mail you your exact url that matches your site then claim it. Be patient on this regard dont take the first one that they send you but this depends if they personal keyword/url is available.

    Any questions let me know;

      OP, I think PPC might be a good idea.

      This is ok as a list of potential beginner level social media activities, but none of these do much for SEO. Google+ is the only one that might directly influence Google search results.

      Twitter and Facebook links are on your own no-PR pages, which you have to promote yourself. WordPress.com blog would be another site that you need content and backlinks for. This kind of makes sense to me if you're going for some tiered linking or "blackhat" link spam tactics, but if that was the case you wouldn't ask questions like this...

      I would just concentrate my efforts to the money site instead.

      Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
      Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?
