There used to be some website experiments on the forum but I don't see any anymore. What happened? I learned a lot from them plus they were very interesting.

Anybody want to share any?

The SEO sub-forum does allow case studies If you follow the few rules & don't turn it into a sales page.

Keep in mind regardless of what you call a forum thread (experiment, case study, etc...) If it's making silly claims, it will get called out. That's not hating, that's calling out bogus claims that are being used as a sales pitch. Does the bogus claim match what the case study OP is selling (it usually does)?

Also keep in mind, this is SEO & there are eyes watching latest SEO trends. If the masses are doing something, go the other direction because Google will eventually slap the latest fad.

Good point! Lol its funny because that last case-study I saw, the site stayed number 1 for 4-5 month and then dropped to page 2 and now on page 5.

I think people are just scared to post their case studies because they don't want to spent time arguing with others lol

Or we just don't have the time, or enough data, or permission to use the sites as a case study. I'm just about to start building my first own site(s) in ages. It's the client work that pays the bills, and you gotta be very discreet about that. I guess the rules don't even allow anonymized data?

Many of the recent "case studies" have been of fairly low quality. They leave more questions than they answer. You can drive a truck through the holes in methodology and/or presentation, and find alternative explanation in five seconds without even trying. We can learn through discussion, so maybe these kind of posts could be developed further if the OP allows. However, often the thread gets to a point of a stalemate: haters be hatin', and OP is on the defense.

There's so many factors to SEO that it makes good case studies hard to write. You're often trying several tactics at any given time. So do you try to disclose everything, or just present your favourite theory about the maneuvers behind the success/failure?

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

        What's your excuse?

Haha, I miss those threads where op makes a wild claim about their earnings, over eagerly helps out, answering every single darn question in the thread. Somewhere around page 6, they'll announce the release of their new WSO.
