Up To Date Adsense SideBar widget

New to wordpress and adsense so I try to keep away from complicated html5 stuff (focused a lot more on content quality). Been looking over the web but all post are like 4-5 years old and give me outdated widgets.
I simply want a widget thats simple to use, up to date and that i can post my Adsense Ad code in it put it on my side bar and be done with it.

    just simple put the code in a text widget and place it in your sidebar?

    and as far as plugins for ad placements goes, quickadsense does the job.
